You already know the score with Amazon Prime. For a $100 a year, you get Amazon Prime video, free two day shipping and you can even borrow books from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. In an effort to give customers more bang for their buck, Amazon is offering a new perk for their premium service.
Jumanji, stars the Rock (who is also starring in the upcoming film, RAMPAGE, based on the classic game of the same name), Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black, and although the name is the same, the content and plot sounds quite a bit different than what you might remember seeing in the Robin Williams version. This time around, a few teenagers are transported into the game, where their avatars manifest as The Rock, Karen Gillan and apparently Jack Black after they arrive. Not exactly a continuation, not exactly a reboot, this is supposed to be more along the lines of side-step restart. Who can even keep track anymore?
Regardless of how you feel about this reboot/restart/not-sequel of what some people consider a beloved, almost-classic, you can watch it before anyone else, then spread your opinion on the ol' world wide web, provided you have Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime members can purchase up to 10 tickets to showings at thousands of theaters across the country on December 8th, 12 days before the film officially lands.
What do you think? Is this going to be any good? Is this going to be worth seeing almost two weeks early, or at all, for that matter?
Go see it and let me know, because this movie looks "like it could be fun", which is usually code for "not going to be very good".
I hope it is though. Loved me that Robin Williams Jumanji.
