Famous anime scribe, Michiru Shimada, passed away on December 15th. She was 58 years old.
Shimada has written scripts and worked on some amazing anime, including The Aurora, One Piece and most recently, Little Witch Academia. Her daughter announced that she had passed away last Friday.
Shimada began her career writing for TV, specifically Arale-chan, Dr. Slump and Urusei Yatsura before getting to work on some popular anime shows like Rurouni Kenshin. In 1999 and in 2000 she wrote One Piece, and One Piece: The Movie, respectively.
Shimada fell ill last year, and has been fighting health issues ever since, never fully recovering, until her untimely death on Friday. Shimada was in the business for over thirty-five years, and will be missed.
