This seems like nonsensical hype, but that's Hollywood for you. I mean, why would you miss the first five minutes? Who is showing up late to the biggest Marvel movie ever? No one, that's who.
Still, fair warning, because apparently, something "devastating" is going to happen at the beginning of Marvel's Infinity War, to show how much of a badass Thanos is. Seems to me they could have just not made him look like this and they would have achieved the same thing.
See what I mean? I know his chin is true to the comics, but it still looks like a certain part of the male anatomy, and in general, he looks more like a gladiator than a blood-thirsty titan, but I digress.
Kevin Feige, speaking about the film at a Comic-con in 2017, had this to say about Thanos: "We've been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver. So, within the first five minutes of Infinity War people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
Obviously, it sounds like someone is going to die, and the interesting part of this whole "story", to me, is that it could really be anyone. Naturally, I am assuming Hawkeye, since he is the weakest, isn't really featured in most of the films (after Avengers), and it seems like Jeremy Renner is kind of going through the motions anyways. But there are a ton of options here, since a lot of the actor's contracts are up after this film. As of right now, there isn't a Robert Downy Jr. Iron Man film in the works, and he is almost through with the MCU, period. Captain America is another one, since sooner or later, they are going to have to reboot this whole thing with younger actors and seeing ol' Cap bite the dust would be some strong motivation for the rest of the team.
My money, however, is on Vision. Thanos has gotta rip that gem out of his face to complete the gauntlet, and what better way to kill someone than to tear an infinity stone out of their head? There are some Vision scenes in the trailer though, and they don't look like the first five minutes of the movie. So who? Loki? Scarlet Witch? Falcon? I think the only person who is really safe is Spider-Man. The Studio has too much riding on that kid.
Gimmie some guesses in the comments, and take another look at the all-inclusive trailer below.
