Netflix is making big, nasty moves, and I am about it. They've got David Ayer, the director of Harsh Times, Training Day, Fury and Suicide Squad teaming up with Will Smith, who has too many films to list. The film, called Bright, is the biggest Netflix movie so far, with undeniably the biggest director and star they've ever had before.
The movie features two cops working together in a world where humans live and work alongside orcs, elves and other creatures of faerie. While on the job, the unlikely pair stumbles upon a magic wand of sorts that grants wishes, kind of a macguffin for the fantasy world. Once the cops have the wand, they are going to find that a lot of citizens, both faerie and human will do almost anything to get their hands on it. They end up having to learn to make peace with their fantasy style racism, protect an elf-girl, and save the day. Sounds legit.
