In comics, someone is always dying and getting resurrected. It's pretty constant, and honestly, it's out of hand. Hulk has died twice now in the books.
Other notable deaths include: Hawk, Dove, Wolverine, Green Lantern, Superman, Batman, Plastic Man, Spider-Man, Ion (another Green Lantern), Jonah Hex, Clayface, Black Widow, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Thor, Giant-Man, Hercules, Ant-Man, Red Skull... I could go on, and I could go on for a while.
It has become a bit of a laugh these days; a hero dies, and you are immediately wondering how many issues before he or she comes back. Now, it's the Hulk's turn (again).
SPOILER ALERT
Bruce Banner was killed by a sneaky plot with multiple layers, but the bottom line is that Hawkeye was tricked into killing him during Civil War II. He was then temporarily resurrected (ugh) in both Secret Empire and the Uncanny Avengers, but Marvel made it clear both times that the Hulk was still dead at the end of both of those stories. Things might be different during the "No Surrender" event.
The two-minute video (it's really kind of an interactive comic book) shows off some art depicting the Avengers in action, in addition to some interviews with Marvel's senior vice president of publishing and their editor-in-chief as they discuss what this story will mean to the Marvel universe as a whole. Check out the trailer and make sure you watch till the end, where it will show what may or may not be the return of the (not so) Jolly Green Giant.
No Surrender is a 16 part story that beings with Avengers #675 this January. It unites a whole bunch of Avengers teams, including The Avengers, The Uncanny Avengers and The U.S.Avengers, written by comic book madman Mark Waid, plus Al Ewing and Jim Zub. Pepe Larazz, Kim Jacinto and Paco Medina are handling the art.
