Netflix is keeping their exclusive content rolling by acquiring worldwide rights to the creepy horror/thriller, The Open House.
The Open House centers around a teenager and his mother, who have recently moved after a tragedy, and now have to contend with sinister forces that crop up after an open house is held in their home. Did someone just hide in the cellar? Did one of those looky-loos awaken an angry spirit? Are the local kids just being dicks? It could be anything!
Starring Dylan Minnette (star of 13 Reasons Why), The Open House is written and directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote, who are both somewhat unknown, with Angel having way more acting experience than directing (and even then, not a ton). In fact, The Open House marks the directorial debut of Suzanne Coote, but sometimes a fresh take is exactly what the genre needs. Let's hope that's the case here, because I gotta admit, the premise isn't exactly fresh.
The Open House will premiere wherever Netflix is available on January 19, 2018.
