We wrote about this upcoming Sci-Fi series from Netflix a few weeks back, and now we have a brand new trailer for you.
In the world of Altered Carbon (written by Richard K. Morgan), science has figured out how to copy a person's memories and implant them in a new body, which is easily grown using cutting edge technology. It turns out that your memories and personality reside in a "stack" in your spine, and science has found a way to store your "stack" digitally, where it can be downloaded into a new body, or "sleeve", when and if you die. The very rich have their "stacks" stored remotely, so they can replace themselves over and over again, no matter how often they die, or if their "stack" is destroyed, basically achieving immortality.
The book was a pretty huge hit in the Science Fiction genre, and won Phillip K. Dick award. Take a look at the official trailer, it looks gritty and and kinds of tech-y. In short, I have high hopes.
