After the news of Gambit losing its director, Fox has pushed the release of Ryan Reynolds’ “Deadpool 2” forward by two weeks to May 18, most likely trying to avoid the movie-goer swarm of people killing themselves to watch “Solo: A Star Wars Story”, instead setting themselves up to square off against the recently petitioned-against Slender Man.
Ryan Reynolds fought long and hard to get the original Deadpool into theaters, and he's a producer on the sequel, “Deadpool 2”. Co-director David Leitch, of John Wick fame took the reigns from Tim Miller after "creative differences" with Ryan Reynolds led him to abandon ship.
Deadpool 2 will feature X-Factor's Domino, in addition to fan-favorite "Cable", played by Josh Brohlin. “Deadpool” earned $783.1 million worldwide, knocking “The Matrix Reloaded” out to become the highest-grossing R-rated film in history.
Deadpool 2 is set for release May 18th, 2018.
