Sony just pushed their new/old, hopefully tentpole Men In Black film from May 17 to June 14, 2019. Why are they doing this? You ever heard of a movie called John Wick? Hang on, let me remind you:
Yeah. That movie is beyond badass (thanks to Nick DiNizio for the video), and no doubt Sony doesn't want to tangle with John Wick: Chapter 3 on its opening weekend. Man, I cannot wait to see John Wick 3. That is going to be badass...
Anyways, Men In Black 3 was a surprise hit, and I myself shared that surprise. After all the problems and issues getting the film into theaters, I figured it was going to be a piece of trash for sure. Yet it turned out to be clever and even laugh out loud funny. The script for the film is written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight), and even though every Transformers film is a hot pile of wet trash, Iron Man was good, and maintained a tongue in cheek humor that could work well with Men In Black.
Early reports are saying that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones both will not reprise their roles, and as tired I am of remakes and reboots, I am not surprised they are coming back to this franchise despite losing their stars; the second and third films alone combined to make over a billion dollars worldwide. That's a lot of payola, and I hope they come up with a script that justifies a fourth film.
