Unsane is a movie with a silly title from director Steven Soderbergh, about a woman who starts to unravel as she begins to see her stalker everywhere. Looking for help, she mistakenly institutionalizes herself, where she begins to doubt her entire reality, as well as her own sanity.
Starring Claire Foy (The Crown), the film was shot completely using an iphone instead of traditional cameras. Soderbergh claims that filming with a phone is "the future" of films, and had this to say about his decision to use an iphone for the film.
"There's a philosophical obstacle a lot of people have about the size of the capture device. I don't have that problem," said Soderbergh. "I look at this as potentially one of the most liberating experiences that I've ever had as a filmmaker, and that I continue having."
Unsane will premiere at the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival in February before it is released in theaters on March 23, 2018, take a look at the unsettling trailer below and see if you can tell if this thing was shot with a camera that can fit in your pocket.
