When we last left Jessica Jones, she had won the day against Kilgrave (Mr. Purple), but was dealing with the fallout of the fight, mainly the horrible, abusive memories of being in Kilgrave's thrall. The second season looks like it picks up shortly after, but focuses on Jessica trying to discover the origins of her powers, and solve the death of her parents.
It looks like the whole origin thing is going to be a lot like Marvel's Weapon X, with sterile, underground hospitals created for the sole purpose of human experimentation. While she's sorting all that noise out, it appears that there is a serial killer loose in Hell's Kitchen, a shady figure trying to disrupt (or takeover) her PI business, Alias, and a bunch of other experimental "superheroes" running around that Jessica is going to have to find and probably fight. There is also a mysterious figure at the end of the trailer, and Jessica is not so coincidentally bathed in a certain color of light...
