I don't speak a lick of Japanese, but I always enjoy Japanese trailers. They jam so much energy into the trailers and promos, it's like your friend bursting through your door, out of breath, desperate to tell you something awesome. Especially with a movie like Rampage, that breathless style really works.
On top of the general fun of the trailer, we have Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson speaking Japanese as he introduces the international trailer, which is pretty funny. We don't get a ton of new footage here, but everything seems like it has been condensed down in about a minute or so.
In Rampage, Dwayne Johnson plays a primatologist named Davis Okoye who shares a strange bond with George, the crazy intelligent, albino gorilla who has been in his care most of its life. Of course, a mysterious genetic experiment mutates the ape into a monster-ape, and that's not all! A wolf (Ralph) and a crocodile (Lizzie) have also been affected, and now, three apex predators have to throw down and destroy pretty much everything. It's the plot we want, and it's the plot we deserve.
Rampage is out April 19th.
