For Once, I Can't Tell If A Horror Movie Is Going To Suck. Introducing, PitchforkNews | DLH.NET The Gaming People

Dammit, this is irritating! Look; I can always tell if a flick is going to be a total piece of crap or not. It's an innate talent, it's real, just accept it.

This time though... crap. I can't tell. Help me, people.

The first half of this trailer made it clear I was watching a commercial for a shitty movie. It was obvious, and if I wasn't already sure, the barn dance thing was really the nail in the coffin. Then, the second half made me think I was watching a trailer for a potentially good horror movie. Now I am confused. Especially if they are mocking/leaning on the tropes, then all the crappy parts of the trailer could have been on purpose. What a debacle.

The movie follows a dude named Hunter, who is traveling to his family home in Michigan in order to come out of the closet to his conservative father. Not expecting things to go well, Hunter brings some of his friends along to help him go through with it. Soon after he arrives, Hunter, his friends, and his family find themselves the target of a killer with a pitchfork for a hand and some kind of disgusting mask on his face that looks like it is made out of roadkill.

I am going to go with... this movie is going to suck. I really don't want it to, though. It's been a while since there has been a great American horror flick.
