This is looking better as each trailer is released, but we'll see how these snippets add up in June when Cloak & Dagger debuts. The show still has a very "teen" feel to it, which is fine, but Cloak & Dagger's past has always been a tumultuous one, with the writers tackling social issues from interracial relationships to drug addiction and how society views vagrancy and teenage crime. It will be interesting to see how they handle these issues (if at all) on the Freeform network, which is comparable to the CW in tone and target age demographic.
We already know that the shadowy Roxxon Corporation will be a heavy hitter in Cloak & Dagger’s world, and we'll see if the incarnation's of C&D we've been shown in the trailers are going to be their "final forms"; it' definitely possible that they have latent powers that will activate, or that will manifest if Roxxon gets their hands on the two teens and start poking and prodding at them, as evil corporations are wont to do. In this new trailer, we see that Tandy and Tyrone are actually some kind of chosen ones (of course) and that they are destined to face an emerging crisis in a conflict that only one of them will survive. Coupled with newly acquired superpowers, it's all kind of a lot to take in for two teens who just met.
