This guy has been mad busy since Key & Peele! First there was Keanu, which was flawed but fun. Then he shook the earth's foundations (if you believe the hype/are as addicted to this film as a lot of people were) with Get Out, a great thriller/horror/comedy/social comentary flick from last year. Now, not only does the guy have a new movie coming to theaters in 2019 called Us, he's got a slew of other projects in the works as well, like executive producing Lovecraft Country (horror), The Hunt (thriller) and executive producing the newly rebooted Twilight Zone (horror).
Now, while we don't know a ton about Us we do know a little, thanks to THR. In an exclusive with The Hollywood Reporter, Peele let a little info trickle through his fingers: we know that the upcoming film will focus on two couples, one that's white and one that's black, and it won;t be a surprise to many if Peele's movie once again centers on race. As far as the lineup is looking, it's a good one: Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke (both coming off of Black Panther) are reportedly in negotiations to star as the black couple, while Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale) is in negotiations to be part of the white couple. Take look at the poster below, which bears the words "a new nightmare."
As soon as more info comes in, i'll alley-oop it straight over to you, Us is slated for a March 15, 2019 release.
