Based on the 1974 YA novel of the same name, Down A Dark Hall is a supernatural suspense novel that tells the story of Kit Gordy (AnnaSophia Robb), a troubled young girl who is sent to the mysterious Blackwood Boarding School after getting in too much trouble at home. She arrives at Blackwood and meets the eccentric headmistress Madame Duret (Uma Thurman) and four other troubled young women. After settling in, Kit and her classmates discover that Blackwood Manor hides a secret rooted in the paranormal story of a girl who was sent to a boarding school by her parents where only four students were admitted including herself.
This thing all but drips "crappy teen horror" but I'm willing to give it a chance. Take a look at the trailer below, Down a Dark Hall releases in theaters on August 17, 2018.
