Paramount has pulled the seventh “Transformers” movie from its 2019 schedule, which is probably a good thing for people who enjoy transformers, or films.
Notoriously terrible, the franchise has churned out sequels with pretty solid regularity since this whole mess began, with Micheal Bay making his usual mess from the director's chair.
The last couple films have started to tank with some diminishing returns, but the first five Transformers films combined to make 4.4 billion dollars worldwide, but the last film, The Last Knight, was the worst out of all the films, "only" making 605 million. Now, the newest film in the franchise has been pulled from its June 28, 2019 release date, although the ill advised spin-off, Bumblebee is still on track for its release on December 21st, helmed by Travis Knight, known for his animation work on ParaNorman and Coraline.
Wrestler turned actor John Cena, who is starring in the upcoming Bumblebee spin-off, posted the following on facebook:
"Hey, what's up? This is John Cena from the new movie Bumblebee. We are taking it back to the beginning with Bee and it's set in a time period where I first fell in love with Transformers. The new trailer debuts tomorrow, and don't miss Bumblebee in theaters this Christmas."
What do you think? Transformers doing spin-offs? Is this necessary? Are you excited for any of this, or are you over Transformers? Let me know in the comments.
