Who would have thought that LEGO movies would be this great? These remind me of when Toy Story came out, and they had risque jokes that went over kids head's for the parents, and goofy all ages humor for everyone else. These movies are just well done all across the board.
The LEGO Movie 2 will reunite the heroes of Bricksburg as they once again have to band together to save their city. It's been five years since the events of the last flick and the LEGO citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO, nasty invaders from outer space who can wreck shop faster than anyone can rebuild. Now, Emmet, Lucy, Batman and their friends must travel to faraway, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical.
Pretty much everyone is coming back talent wise: Chris Pratt as Emmet, Elizabeth Banks as Lucy (aka Wyldstyle), Will Arnett as LEGO BatmanTM, Nick Offerman as Metal Beard, and Alison Brie as Unikitty. They are joined by Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Arturo Castro as, respectively, new characters Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi, Sweet Mayhem and Ice Cream Cone.
The LEGO Movie 2 (such an awkward name...) opens nationwide in 2D and 3D on Friday, February 8, 2019.
