Iceberg Interactive and developer Cybernetic Walrus are kind of going for an anti-Wipeout vibe with their new racer, Antigraviator, available now on PC on Steam for $24.99, with the usual 10% off during the week of launch.
Antigraviator comes off like a mix between F-Zero and Wipeout, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Racers can use traps, power-ups, and boosts to overtake (and take out) your opponents and just dominate the track in general. Featuring a single player and multiplayer mode, the unique twist that Antigraviator has going for it is that you have "unlimited speed" at your disposal, so the only thing setting you apart from your opponents is your skills, and of course, you ability to avoid walls and wrecks.
If you're just curious and want to give it a shot, the demo is available through Game Jolt and Itch.io right now, and hey, if you are worried it might not be in your language (although how would you be reading this if... nevermind) don't be. These guys are dropping the game in a pretty impressive amount of languages, including: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese, Polish, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Portuguese-Brazil.
Check out the trailer below, there really is a pretty good feeling of speed to it, and this just might scratch your itch for insane speed with a throwback feel.
