Guardians of the Galaxy is a big hit in the MCU, much in the way that Ant-Man is; funny films that are light enough, but still have high enough stakes so they don't feel like a waste of time.
With the success of the first film and the, well, decent reception of the second film, you'd think we'd have already seen everything that there is to see in terms of additional content, but you'd be wrong. This concept art, tweeted out by the head of Marvel Studios' Visual Development, Ryan Meinerding, shows some old art that he drew before the first Guardians flick was released, and it's pretty rad, despite Rocket wearing what appears to be a onesie.
Star-Lord looks a lot more like he does in the comics, although he is definitely still recognizable as Peter Quill. Rocket, on the other hand, looks a lot less like a raccoon, and more like some sort of slavering alien you would want to smash to death if you came across him in an abandoned space craft. It's interesting, because this look is a lot more reminiscent of the old school Abnett comic book run, which was a major influence on the James Gunn flick.
Right now, you can catch Rocket, Groot, Star Lord and the rest of the guardians in Avengers: Infinity War, which, in my personal opinion, is pretty badass.
