Zach Snyder Says That The "Real" Doomsday Is Still Out There

Zach Snyder Says That The

Those of us who were disappointed by Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice (and lets face it, almost everyone was) should be pleased to hear that Doomsday wasn't completely wasted on a stupid movie with a shoehorned death of Superman. Lex Luthor making Doomsday in a Kryptonian ship, Doomsday being some kind of walking nuclear reactor that doesn't even really resemble the actual character, him launching some kind of shockwave energy attack for some reason... that all might have just been a precursor to the real Doomsday (mein gott, the DCU is a screwed up trash heap of a mess), according to Snyder's recent response to a curious fan.

This is good news, although there are plenty of villains I'd like to see first; Braniac is always a big one, Mongul, Metallo, hell, even Parasite, albeit placed in a minor villain role would probably be better than Doomsday at this stage in the game. I recently went back and read the death of Superman arc, and it doesn't hold up as well as I remember. Doomsday is a pure physical force, a wrecking ball of inarticulate violence, and it is kind of odd re-reading it, because Superman keeps yelling things like, "This stops now, monster!" and "Your rampage of terror ends NOW!"

And Doomsday just goes, "Graaahhhh!"

Not exactly the best back and forth I've ever heard between a villain and a hero.

There are currently no announced plans for the next Superman flick, and with the massive shake-ups happening right now over at DC, I don't expect any coming soon.
