The Witcher has a lot of potential, and it could easily be amazing. I'm thinking Game Of Thrones combat meets Dungeons and Dragons style magic and monsters and if Netflix puts some cash into it (and I am pretty sure they are), it should be amazing. If... they get a good Geralt of Rivia.

So far, there has been no casting announced for the main characters, chiefly Geralt of Rivia and Yennefer of Vengerberg. Geralt is the lead of the series, and Yennefer is his sorceress/love interest, so they've gotta nail the casting on both of them if they don't want the show to suck Yennefer is his on-again-off-again romantic partner. Netflix has been pretty quiet on the series since it was announced a year ago, but the fact that they are actively looking to begin casting (according to showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich's twitter post) probably means the show will begin production and development soon.

It'll be interesting to see which plot-lines they take, since the show is reportedly going to draw more from the series of novels than the three games, although the books were first, and were actually the inspiration for the games. Confused yet?

All you really need to know is that the show features a magic using half-breed who is going to slay werewolves, men, goblins and monsters. He's rocking two swords, one fore mortals and one for monsters. Don't eff this up Netflix. I need a new show.
