Sure The Equalizer 2 Has A Great Trailer, But So Did The First One...News | DLH.NET The Gaming People

I am a huge Denzel Washington fan, and I mean it. I was down with Man On Fire, don't get me started on how much I like Fallen, and even early flicks like Ricochet were a lot of fun watch. I like to see the man put in work, period.

However, Equalizer was a huge disappointment. They kind of tried to do the idiot savant thing, but they blew it, and ended up making a weak flick that didn't really go anywhere, and didn't have enough action. Maybe they can turn it around with the sequel.

The movie follows Robert McCall (Washington), who is just cooling out, not killing anyone when he learns that one of his longtime friends, Susan Plummer, has been murdered. McCall decides to return to his old ways to find (and kill) the perpetrators. Weeeeeee.

Not only is this a boring idea that has been done to death, but this whole series just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It's basically Man on Fire except he starts a stopwatch and then looks at it to see how long it took him to kill everyone. Not all that dynamic if you ask me.

The film is set to release on July 20th, and a bright spot is that it will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, who is the badass behind Training Day, End of Watch, Bright, and others. Come on, people. Denzel only has so many action flicks left in him. Let's make this a good one.
