Most people like these movies because they are so stupid, they actually end up being a lot of fun, generally the types of films you watch with a few buddies and an ice-box full of beer.
Sharknado is a 2013 made-for-television science fiction disaster comedy film about a waterspout that lifts sharks out of the ocean and drops them in Los Angeles, which is admittedly super rad. It aired on July 11, 2013, and stars Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, and John Heard, so basically, a bunch of no ones. It was fun and ridiculous, and a pretty good time, in the way that only a movie about flying sharks can be. Then, suddenly, four sequels were produced: Sharknado 2: The Second One, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens and Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. I've gotta give them huge props for "Global Swarming," because that's awesome.
The Last Sharknado: It's About Time, is the sixth and (presumably) the final film in the franchise, is set to be released on August 19, 2018
In the upcoming film, the lead man Fin (played by Ian Ziering) goes after “the final shark-tier” — time travel — after he ends up wandering a post-apocalyptic Earth at the end of the previous film. Here's the an unofficial synopsis:
The Last Sharknado: It's About Time is set to be released on August 19, 2018. Tara Reid, Ian Ziering and Cassie Scerbo are set to return, and the film will feature time travel, Nazis, dinosaurs, knights, and Noah's ark. On March 28, 2018, Syfy confirmed the film will be the final installment of the series. On May 25, the film's title was revealed by a released teaser trailer.
