This new trailer is looking a lot better than the first one, but are fans going to go for this adaptation, no matter how much Venom smashes and stabs everyone? It's hard to say at this stage in the game, but at least we get to see Venom kicking some ass this time around.
We get a much better look at the symbiote here and we get a taste of some of the tricks that Venom can pull off, like the classic carnage style double axes, and of course, tendrils and symbiote shields, which he uses to block bullets that are coming through a window.
We also get a look at what appears to be the villain in the film, and unless I am mistaken, it's Riot, one of the symbiote offspring created when the Life foundation was screwing around with Eddie's alien in the Separation Anxiety story line. The new symbiote (one of five in the comics) bonds with Trevor Cole, and has a lot of the same types of powers and headaches for Spider-Man, like the ability to block spidey's spider sense, in addition to the usual stuff, like crawling on walls, making blades our of the symbiote's tendrils, healing from wounds and basically being an asshole.
Take a look at the trailer below and let me know what you think in the comments, because I am genuinely not sure where I stand on this. The trailer is making the movie and the action look better, but the story still seems like it's going to be cookie-cutter and I still have no idea what Venom is doing in a film without Spider-Man.
