Boy, did the first season of Iron Fist suck. It was not good, and I mean that. The combat sucked, the dialogue was often terrible, the series was overlong (a problem that plagues almost all the Marvel Netflix shows), and they somehow made the Iron Fist look like some weepy asshole who didn't really know how to use his powers. It was a trainwreck, and everyone who made it should feel terrible, terrible shame.

So now, we have the inevitable second season. What's different?  Well, the showrunner is different, which is great news, although not as great is the fact that they knew they would need to replace the showrunner due to scheduling conflicts, not because the showrunner was terrible and deserved to have his showrunning badge revoked. Still, new is better, and you can tell from the trailer that things look a bit tighter, and the combat doesn't look quite as terrible. How the hell do you botch the combat while you're making a show about karate dudes? Come on!

The plot of this season is hopefully being pulled directly from the Fraction/Aja comic run which was so well-received (and is currently sitting on my shelf). It concerns Davos, an asshole Iron Fist pretender who was in line for the Iron Fist until white-boy Danny Rand showed up and kicked the crap out of him, punking him out in front of all his people and snatching the glowy fist out from under him. The season begins after the events of The Defenders, and sees the Iron Fist fulfilling his promise to protect New York following the supposed death of Matt Murdock at the end of that miniseries. More of K'un-Lun will be showcased, and we'll presumably get Davos' backstory and more of Rand's as well in the second season.

Check out the trailer and let me know in the comments what you think. Worth watching? No? Should we even bother? Lemme know.
