This show ruled my childhood. After school, I would hustle ass off the bus and run the rest of the way home, desperately trying not to miss the beginning of the show. Those opening bars still remind me of bursting through the front door of my parent's house, hurriedly microwaving a delicious, delicious El Monterey burrito (beef n cheese!) and racing into the living room where I would get caught up in whatever the Dark Knight had going that afternoon. Usually, he was caught up in a 50/50 mix of deduction and ass kicking. Life was good.
On a recent re-watch of season 2, I realized just how well this show stands the test of time. The animation, music, plot lines and writing are just as good today as they were in the 90's, and although I hate re-releases, deluxe editions, collector's copies, etc., this show actually could use a polish, as it hasn't been touched since it came out initially on DVD in the early ninties. The complete series has been remastered on Blu-ray, packed up in a box set and will be hitting shelves in October for $112.99. Here's a look at the entire shebang below, and sure, I can admit it comes in an attractive case. There is a pre-order option right now on amazon, but I'm not even going to give you the link, because why would you need to preorder this? What, are they going to run out? Doubtful.
Oh, alright. Fine. Here's the pre-order link. Normally, I would never do this, but I just read that there are only 30,000 of these being made (again, I'm doubtful), but if you don't get a copy cuz I said they weren't going to run out, you'd get all pissy at me, and I don't wanna hear about it.
