EW just dropped some pics from their most recent issue, and it features Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, the character who will ostensibly be taking the Marvel Cinematic Universe in new directions in the upcoming Marvel phases. For a point of reference, here is what Captain Marvel used to look like, when he was a dude named Mar-Vell:
Mar-Vell will be played by Jude Law in the upcoming film, and he will act as a mentor to the younger, female hero, and here is a look at what Brie will look like in the upcoming film, courtesy of EW.

Larson talked a little bit to EW about her character and had the following to say:
“She can be aggressive, and she can have a temper, and she can be a little invasive and in your face. She’s also quick to jump to things, which makes her amazing in battle because she’s the first one out there and doesn’t always wait for orders. But the [not] waiting for orders is, to some, a character flaw.”
Brie Larson will be joined by Samuel L. Jackson, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Clark Gregg, Jude Law, Gemma Chan and Annette Bening.
Captain Marvel is slated for release on March 8, 2019.
