Ever since Thanos' snap heard round the world, Marvel fans have been focused on the upcoming conclusion of Infinity War, and the purported new face of the MCU, Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson), an intergalactic badass who cruises the cosmos with her homies in the Starforce, led by Jude Law's Mar-Vell.
The trailer begins with Brie Larson falling out of the sky and smashing into a conveniently deserted Blockbuster Video (the film is set in the 90's). After walking around the city like a fish out of water, she hooks up with a creepily de-aged, both-eyes-intact Samuel L Jackson, and gets down to... whatever it is she is doing on Earth. Slugging an old woman in the face on a subway, for one, but I assume this old lady is actually a Skrull, a race of shape-shifting alien bastards who are responsible for all kinds of problems in the Marvel comic book world, one of which being the huge Secret Invasion arc, where Skrulls kidnap and replace many super heroes and end up wrecking havoc on their lives and Earth.
Watch the trailer below, it looks like a good chunk of the movie will have her trying to figure out if her life on earth before the Starforce was real or implanted memories, or hell; maybe she's a Skrull herself? Dun Dun DUUUUUUUUN!
Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Annette Bening, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Gemma Chan, Ben Mendelsohn, is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, and arrives in theaters on March 8, 2019.
