This latest trailer for Hell Fest looks as if the movie will be, shall we say, crappy. I am disappointed; what the hell is wrong with the state of American horror? I know we gotta throw a bone to the younger kids every now and then, but this just looks like schlock. I mean, you kids already had Slender Man, which was awful (and could have been awesome, by the way) and you got Truth or Dare or whatever. This one could actually have been a fun Halloween film, but from the looks of the trailer, it is not to be.The only hope this film has is that it's from the director of Happy Death Day, which I enjoyed. It wasn't the best thing ever, but it was somewhat funny, and seemed to know what it was trying to do.
In Hell Fest, a masked serial killer stalked a horror themed amusement park, terrorizing a group of friends while the rest of the kids believe that it is all part of the show. College student Natalie (Forsyth) go to a Halloween themed carnival style park called Hell Fest, which is a sprawling labyrinth of rides, games, and mazes. Rumor has it that a decade ago, someone really killed a teenage girl, while everyone thought her body was part of the decorations, so you can expect the killer to be her brother or something, who has infiltrated Natalie's group of friends, gaining their trust to lure them into zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
Hell Fest has a chance to prove me wrong September 28th.
