After the moderate success of their previous shooter, the Doom 2 mod turned full on game, Unloved, the one-man indie studio BlueEagle Productions released Dimension Drifter on Steam today, and as usual you can snag the 15% off discount for launch week, making the title a tasty $19.45.

Dimension Drifter is (unsurprisingly) a Doom-like, ultra-violent shooter, where you can customize your character and travel through dimensional portals as you eradicate the evil bastards trying to eff up the universe. You'll blast through randomly generated levels and collect various items which can be combined in thousands of different ways, a system that was inspired by Diablo. Another selling point is that the world has been "created over a period of 15 years as a Pen&Paper RPG foundation," so you can assume that the world is pretty in-depth. The studio says that the levels are inspired by DOOM mods (he's a current level modder), so we can expect some interesting design and layouts.

Dimension Drifter just arrived on Early Access, and will likely stay there for about a year as more weapons, enemies and levels are added. Check out the trailer below and see if this will scratch your DOOM itch until DOOM eternal comes out next year.
