Daredevil season two was a mixed bag for me, despite featuring one of my favorite comic characters of all time, the Punisher. Bernthal did a bang up job, and I was sold on the character, but not the characterization, if you can dig it. I thought the plot was both too slow and too rushed, and parts of it meandered. But I've gone on and on about it, so let's move on.
The Daredevil season 3 trailer shows Matt Murdock as a broken man. His woman, Elektra has died (again), his law practice is done for, his best friend Foggy ain't thrilled with him, he's revealed his identity to Karen Page, and he's generally just disillusioned and kind of bummed out. He takes that to the hilt, going all back in black and leaving his Matt Murdock persona behind entirely, devoting his life to kicking everyone's ass. In the meantime, Fisk is out, back in his old-school white suit, and ready to make good on his threat to dismantle Murdock's life, and if I'm reading the trailer right, Fisk is going to figure out that DD and MM are one and the same, to disastrous effect.
The full trailer is below, complete with a surprise villain dressed as Daredevil, who may or may not be a certain DD arch-enemy...
