This was looking pretty sketchy to begin with, but each successive trailer that comes out looks better and better. This latest one is no different, and Alita is starting to look like more than just a freakish, giant-eyed, real-life anime wet-dream and more like a potential ass-kicking badass.
The film, based on a manga of the same name, is set in a post-apocalyptic future. Alita, a cyborg who has lost all her memories is found in a garbage heap by a cybernetics doctor who rebuilds and takes care of her. She discovers that there is one thing she remembers, the legendary cyborg martial art Panzer Kunst, which leads to her becoming a Hunter Warrior. The more she explores, the more she realizes that she is clearly not part of the "lower world" and definitely some kind of super robot badass. Face smashing ensues.
Alita is played by Rosa Salazar, and the cyber-doctor, Ido is played by straight up badass, Christoph Waltz. The flick is directed by Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) with a screenplay by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis.
