Glass brings two of Shyamalan's best movies (2000’s Unbreakable, from Touchstone, and 2016’s Split, from Universal) together with Glass, which will close out the trilogy when it arrives in theaters on January 18th. Bruce Willis, who starred in Unbreakable, returns as David Dunn, and his arch-nemesis, Samuel L. Jackson, is returning as Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass. James McAvoy is coming back as the chaotic wildcard, a man with multiple personalities named Kevin Wendell Crumb. One of his personalities, called the Beast, is a near invulnerable savage who was introduced in Split, and will surely prove to be a match for Dunn.
As the previous trailers have already shown, Elijah/Mr. Glass was locked up in an psych ward/institute for the criminally insane ever since the events of Unbreakable saw Dunn turn him over to the police. Elijah has spent his lifetime causing horrible disasters in an attempt to flush out Dunn, hoping to prove his theory that superheroes actually exist. After being locked up for years, and being under the care of Dr. Ellie Staple (Sarah Paulson), Mr. Glass is aiming to prove to her that superheroes are real. As a psychiatrist specializing in treating people who believe they are superheroes, she is about to get a taste of the real deal. Insanity will no doubt ensue.
