They keep trying to make me care about this upcoming Marvel film, I am just not sure it's working, despite the trailers, which look like a "rollicking good time". I mean, Wonder Woman is now recognized as a badass, tent-pole film, but it wasn't too long ago that the world collectively did not care about her, because, seriously, it's Wonder Woman, and, well, no one really cares about her. Not to take away anything from her "strong, empowered symbol of feminine power," which she definitely is, or her comic book character, which saw a revival from Brian Azzarello and then another great run from Greg Rucka, it's just the fact that most people care about Wonder Woman like they care about Aquaman- not much.

Now we have Captain Marvel, who is, according to Larson herself, a "believer in truth and justice" and a "bridge between Earth and space" who must balance her "unemotional" Kree side that is an "amazing fighter" with her "flawed" human half that is "the thing that she ends up leading by." Marvel is also aggressive, quick tempered, and invasive, attributes that help her in a fight but prove to be character flaws. Huh.

I don't know. I am a comic fan, so I always hope for the best (much like with the upcoming Aquaman film), but this just sounds like a film that I've seen before, a character who must "rise up and become a hero". Couple that with the creepy, two eyed Nick Fury (played by a "de-aged by 25 years" Sam Jackson) and I am just a little concerned with where this bad boy is going.

Let me know what you think in the comments, cuz I am just not sure. Captain Marvel will be released on March 8th, 2019.
