We've had our eye on this remake/reboot/whatever for a while now, since we have a lot of love for Hellboy around the office, despite not yet finishing Hellboy In Hell yet (I don't want the ride to eeeeeeend!). This new trailer unfortunately shows Hellboy's face again and boy... it ain't great, friends.
Wearing so many prothstetics that you can barely understand what he's saying, this is definitely not the smooth faced Ron Pearlman Hellboy. Instead, old Red looks like a witch and a goblin of some kind had a scarlet baby. It's kind of monstrous, which I suppose is the look they were going for, but god knows why. The film is based on Wild Hunt, Darkness Calls and some pieces from The Storm and the Fury storylines, among others. In the film, Hellboy is called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue, a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy, decides to kick some ass, since Nimue is going to trigger the end of the world and all. That's where Hellboy lives, so he clearly isn't cool with it.
