New Pet Sematary Trailer Changes The Plot, Still Has Killer KidsNews | DLH.NET The Gaming People

This latest version of Pet Sematary is directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer and written by Jeff Buhler, and will be the second adaptation of the novel of the same name by Stephen King, after the 1989 film. The film stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow, and I'll admit, Lithgow is actually the only thing I'm really excited about here.

I'm sure that they are trying to replicate the success of IT, which was scary, totally badass and also a money making juggernaut. However, I'm not so sure about this one; it looks like they are taking a lot of liberties with the source material, which doesn't really seem necessary. It also looks like they are gonna end this one with a small army of killer kids instead of just one, but we'll see. I'm struggling to withhold judgement, but the trailers up to this point just don't make the movie look like it's going to deliver.

Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.

Spoiler alert, the "unfathomable evil" will almost assuredly be turning his kids into murderous zombies who are wielding scalpels.

The film is scheduled for release on April 5, 2019.
