Originally this was thought to just be a working title, and I remember laughing about it. After all, it's clever in a terrible "hey, remember what Sarah Conner said about fate in T2?" type of way. Also, I remember thinking that, hell, if that IS the title, so be it. The movie always had its roots in the 80's-90's (obviously), and those decades were responsible for a ton of cheese, so in a way, the name is fitting. Then I remembered that the Terminator franchise (the good films, at least), took themselves pretty damn seriously. "Dark Fate" is corny as a mah-fah. I then got hungry, went out for a burrito, and forgot all about it.
Unfortunately, now the name is official, and by that, I'm talking Twitter official. So, it's mad official. If you don't know, a big bright spot is that the film aims to ignore everything after the second film, aka the last good one. Alright, fine, I have a soft spot for 3, but it's still not a great movie by any means.
Terminator: Dark Fate (I still can't type that with a straight face) stars Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire), Gabriel Luna (Agents of SHIELD), Natalia Reyes, plus Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton. The film is scheduled to open on November 1.
