I mean, this whole time the movie has looked like crap, and the whole idea sounded bad from the gate. We already saw this movie, and it sucked, not to mention that they didn't build Jean up enough in the previous films for this to have the emotional resonance that it should. We should all know and love Jean by now, and everyone should have went "Ohhhhh, noooooooo" when we all saw the first trailer. We all know she is going to die, but we should have cared. Instead, most people went, "Oh, they're making that film again? Remind me, who plays Jean Grey?"

But, despite not having much new footage, the trailer looks much better and makes the film actually seem viable. We see a little more of Quicksilver and a bit more of Magneto, plus a close-up of Nightcrawler. In short, not a ton of new stuff. But for some reason, this actually makes the movie look like it might not suck.

Fingers crossed they kill Mystique and Cyclops.

We'll all have to wait and see when Dark Phoenix comes out on June 7th. Read the official synopsis below.

"This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we've come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet -- one of their own."
