This series has been a long time in the making and has had a somewhat beleaguered history. If you don't know, Swamp Thing is an upcoming superhero horror drama TV series based on the DC Comics character, set to premiere May 31, 2019 on DC Universe. I have DC universe, and I gotta say, Titans ruled and Doom Patrol is pretty good, too, but they better start cranking out some new content to fight their way into the crowded pay to stream service market. This is a good step though, and after bagging James Wan as executive producer, they seem to be on the right track, despite everything we've been hearing about trouble on the set, even though these rumors seemed to be proven true when the series was cut from 13 episodes to 10.
Still, this is the same-ish thing that happened with Titans (they bailed on the final episode and cut the season short), and the series was pretty badass, albeit with a weak "final" episode. With James Wan involved, this thing might have a real shot, as most of his horror flicks are legit, like Insidious and The Conjuring.
Here's the series premise, the trailer is below, and if you have DC Universe (think it's about $8 a month, but there's a sporadic, free month trial for 80 cents if you look around) you can catch Swamp Thing on May 31st.
"Abby Arcane returns home to Houma, Louisiana to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, where she develops a bond with scientist Alec Holland. After Holland tragically dies, Arcane discovers the mysteries of the swamp and that Holland may not be dead after all."
