This has all the stars aligning, from the team of Command & Conquer vets working on it to the beloved hero it's based on; if they can just stick the landing, Conan Unconquered could be something really special. In thirty days, the new RTS will launch on Steam, an amalgam of real-time strategy and survival, and the first strategy title set in the world of Conan.
One of the big features of the game is the ability to play it fully in co-op, and you'll need to combine your freakish army of mythical beasts and work together with another player to build a fortified base and turn back the invading forces. Today, Funcom and Petroglyph released the first gameplay video showing more than 20 minutes of co-op gameplay, so you can really get a feel for what they've developed. The armies look particularly wild, with giant spiders, men riding black panthers, barbarians and more making up the ranks. The two armies in the video below are Petroglyph Designer Renato Orellana and Funcom Community Manager Jens Erik Vaaler.
I'm pretty stoked on this, not only because I like Conan, but because a co-op RTS is right the hell up our alley. Give the video a watch below to see how it all plays out in action.
Conan Unconquered releases on Steam May 30th.
