PORTAL®: COMPANION COLLECTION COMING TO NINTENDO SWITCHT
Two Award-Winning Titles Flinging Onto Switch
February 9, 2022 - Portal: Companion Collection, featuring both Portal and Portal 2 from Valve, is heading to Nintendo SwitchT later this year.
Featuring all the ground-breaking gameplay, dark humor, and exploration that earned the series hundreds of awards, the Switch version will be available worldwide in 2022 via Nintendo eShop for a targeted price of $19.99 (US, or similar in other markets).
Originally released as part of The Orange Box, Portal was heralded as a ground-breaking puzzle platforming game that changed the way players could approach, manipulate, and surmise the possibilities in a given environment. Throughout Portal, which is played from a first-person perspective, players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals to maneuver objects, and themselves, through space. The game also leverages a darkly humorous narrative as players adventure and puzzle their way through the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories.
Portal 2 is the hilariously mind-bending adventure that again challenges players to use wits over weaponry in a funhouse of diabolical science. Using the highly experimental Portal device, players once again face off against a lethally inventive, power-mad A.I. named GLaDOS. Players meet an expanded cast of characters as they think their way through dangerous, never-before-seen areas of the laboratories and a wider variety of portal puzzles. Plus Portal 2 also includes a co-operative game mode with local, split-screen and online multiplayer.
Together the titles have earned over 100 industry awards and sold over 35 million units worldwide.
The Companion Collection marks the debut of the Portal franchise on a Nintendo platform and was developed for the Nintendo Switch in collaboration with NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios. It is targeted for release later this year.
