The creators of Moonlighter part ways with Humble Bundle to self-publish upcoming RTS Tower Defence Cataclismo
Experience the first self-published game by Digital Sun today with the new demo and upcoming Kickstarter campaign
Valencia, Spain - 5th September 2023 - Indie studio Digital Sun has announced that they will self-publish Cataclismo, their upcoming RTS game featuring LEGO-like construction with an extensive demo on Steam. Originally part of Humble Bundle's catalog, Digital Sun has amicably parted ways with the publisher. Now, the creators of Moonlighter and The Mageseeker will face their biggest challenge yet: releasing a game on their own for the very first time.
Without a publisher, Digital Sun will launch a Kickstarter campaign on September 26th to keep improving Cataclismo and release it on PC in Q2 2024. "We are thrilled to self-publish our first game, become even more independent, and use this huge opportunity to take the studio to the next level", said Javi Giménez, CEO and Co-Founder at Digital Sun. "At its core, Cataclismo is all about working together and building something out of nothing, and we hope you can join us in our quest through the Kickstarter campaign!"
Cataclismo mixes real-time strategy and tower defense genres with a focus on stone-by-stone building. Construct walls, forts, and towers freely clicking blocks together in Lego-meets-They Are Billions fashion. Then command soldiers to take up tactical positions that best suit their role to defend against the endless waves of Horrors that have emerged from the dense mist.
Follow the gripping story of Iris in the dedicated campaign mode as she leads an expedition beyond the gates of Ciudad Hogar, the last city, to reclaim the mist-shrouded ruins and rebuild humanity in a tale of hope, unity, and resilience. You can also let your fortress design imagination run wild in the Creative Mode and intricate medieval castles freely without worrying about designs being destroyed by the Horrors of the night.
