Automation, Terraforming & Robots - 'Craftomation 101' open playtest starts today!
Command a group of goofy robots to turn a frozen planet into a habitable oasis
Luden.io, the indie studio behind titles such as while True: learn() and Learning Factory, announces today that its next game, Craftomation 101, is holding an open playtest from today until September 18. After landing on a frozen planet, you embark on a quest to terraform it using a bunch of goofy robots that will help you do tiresome work using visual programming. This playtest features a new robot, a new plant (as well as reworked organic growth for them) and a new building. Players can already play Craftomation 101's demo on Steam. You can check its trailer below.
ABOUT THE GAME
After landing on a frozen planet, one tiny robot has a colossal task to endure: terraforming an entire planet! The first rough estimate for this task is... 9,000 years. Lucky for you, you are not alone: meet the CraftoMates, tiny robots that can be programmed to perform all kinds of tasks –no programming skills needed at all!
Thanks to the CraftoMates ability to harvest resources, collect materials, craft objects, and do all sorts of tiresome work, you will be able to slowly but steadily terraform the planet. Use automation lines, upgrade them as you discover new materials, and don't forget to feed them every once in a while (though you can automate that too)!
PLAYTEST NEW FEATURES
- New robot: Cargomate is your best robot for carrying heavy stuff around.
- Reworked organics growth: Plants now require a certain temperature to grow.
- New plant: Moss grows near sulphur sources, and is great for making nutritious brews for Craftomates.
- New building: a Brewery allows you to craft two kinds of ales for Craftomates: one speeds them up, and the other one temporarily increases their battery capacity.
- Reworked visuals.
