Multi-Award Nominated C-Smash VRS Reveals Plans for the New Year
The game reimagined from SEGA’s classic to receive new updates in January 2024
London, United Kingdom – 19th December 2023 – C-Smash VRS, the acclaimed, multi-award nominated futuristic VR sports game by RapidEyeMovers and Wolf & Wood will expand in 2024 in fun, feature and players.
C-Smash VRS established itself as one of the best sports, VR and multiplayer games released in 2023, and in January 2024, the celebrated PS VR2 game will gain much requested Leaderboards, a host of innovative Accessibility features and quality of life improvements. Soon after – and throughout the year – C-Smash VRS will expand to more players than ever before.
“We had an incredible response to our game on PS VR2,” said Jörg Tittel, Director at RapidEyeMovers. “Our game drew in big crowds and made them move at some of the biggest events including Bit Summit, WASD x IGN and EGX. Next year, we'll make the game accessible to more players, regardless of physical ability and perhaps even hardware?”
“The previous update was huge, we added everything from the planned roadmap and more based on feedback, such as the Versus Bot.” said Ryan Bousfield, Creative Director of Wolf & Wood. “Although, given the continued interest and excitement around the game, we have decided that there is room for more. The new leaderboards will add some healthy competition to what is generally a pretty relaxed game.”
Developed by Wolf & Wood, C-Smash VRS is a collaboration with London based game production and publishing studio RapidEyeMovers. C-Smash VRS has been greatly received by the community and to media acclaim, and with the massive September update, the player base has since doubled. Media outlets had positive things to say about the game:
“…engaging, exhausting and exhilarating.” – VGC“…probably our favourite VR multiplayer so far.” – Daily Star
“…deserves to sit with pride among the essential VR titles.” – GamesHub
“…a brilliantly restorative VR experience.” – Push Square
“…a virtual racket sport delight.” – TheSixthAxis
“…a wonderful, senses-stimulating experience…” – PCMag
The game also was awarded Best Sports Game from Cross Button VR, nominated for Best VR Game at the Golden Joysticks 2023 and nominated in four categories for the official PlayStation Blog Game of the Year Awards 2023 – Best Multiplayer Experience, Best Sports Game and PS VR2 Game of the Year.
C-Smash VRS will also be the centrepiece of a brand-new style of physical esports event at Humanise Festival of Play 2024 (www.humanise.games) in Kendal, UK, making C-Smash VRS players from all walks of life compete with each other as equals.
Players will be able to get a glimpse at footage of the C-Smash VRS January 2024 update as revealed by PSVR2 Without Parole on 30th December. Tune in on the day to not miss out on the new information and improvements.
