Aug. 12, 2025: As though returning to the scene of the crime and knowing where the bodies are buried, woeful watchers everywhere returned to Nevermore Academy in droves, effortlessly catapulting Part 1 of Wednesday Season 2 to the top of the English TV List with an electrifying 50 million views. The first four episodes of Season 2 saw the second most views in a single week across all English TV, behind Wednesday Season 1. Plus, Season 2, Part 1 now holds the record for English TV title ranked No. 1 in most countries (91 total) in its first week.

In Part 1 of this season, the mirthless mystery-solver Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) investigates a string of puzzling new murders as she contends with the challenge of mastering her psychic abilities, unmasking a sadistic stalker, and racing against the clock to prevent the death of her best friend, Enid (Emma Myers). Wednesday Season 1 also made an appearance on the list, landing at No. 2 with 8.6 million views, bringing viewers up to speed for the new school year.

Fans of literary romance took a trip across the pond to study Victorian poetry, and fell head over heels for My Oxford Year. Viewers couldn’t help but swoon over the Sofia Carson and Corey Mylchreest–starring romantic drama, which claimed the No. 1 spot on the English Film List and became a Top 10 hit in all countries ranked after amassing another 27.2 million views in its second week.

Week after week, the musical animated original film KPop Demon Hunters has taken over the world, one K-pop bop at a time — and with no signs of slowing down. The K-pop trio HUNTR/X continued to sing their way into the hearts of audiences everywhere, earning another 25.9 million views to remain steady at No. 2 on the English Film List, while also rising to No. 2 on the Most Popular list

KPop Demon Hunters A Sing-Along Event, a series of screenings across the US and Canada on August 23 and 24, will give fans a chance to sing along to their favorite tunes on the big screen, like the song of the summer “Golden,” which climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last week. The song has also spent four nonconsecutive weeks atop the Billboard global charts

Also in English film, Golf’s favorite underdog wasn’t done with his comeback tour just yet. Happy Gilmore 2 remained a hit among fans of Adam Sandler’s beloved linksman, earning him a spot on the list at No. 3 with 14.7 million views.

Like the view from the top of El Capitan, UNTAMED held its place among the metaphorical clouds of the English TV List, now in the No. 3 spot with 7.2 million views. Audiences pursued justice with Agent Turner (Eric Bana) as he tracked down a killer in the wilds of Yosemite. For an entirely different sort of “wild,” viewers braved the boozy brunches and power dynamics of Texas society in The Hunting Wives, landing the series in the No. 4 spot with another 4.7 million views.

Proving the unstoppable power of the wrestling world was Monday’s WWE RAW live event. Fresh off an eventful SummerSlam weekend, the exciting showdown between Rusev and Sheamus bodyslammed the No. 5 spot with 3 million views.

With steamy suspense, another desperate wife intrigued watchers as the Mexican drama Unspeakable Sins took the No. 1 spot on the Non-English TV List with 6.2 million views. Desperate to escape her abusive marriage, Helena (Zuria Vega) and her lover Iván (Andrés Baida) scheme to blackmail her husband, but the plan goes terribly wrong, leading Helena into a fight for survival. Landing in the No. 2 spot was Korean courtroom drama Beyond the Bar, which follows rookie lawyer Kang Hyo-min (Jung Chae-yeon) as she navigates her new role taking on complex cases at a top law firm.

DAN DA DAN used its supernatural powers to land the No. 3 spot on the Non-English TV list with 2.5 million views. Meanwhile, the South African high-stakes thriller Marked pushed its way to No. 4 on the list, also with 2.5 million views. The series follows a desperate mother, Babalwa (Lerato Mvelase), who grapples with her morals and her need to aid her sick daughter, no matter the cost.

Last week, non-English film was all about European thrillers. Audiences were locked in on the German mystery-thriller Brick, which claimed the No. 1 spot with another 2.3 million views. The film was joined by fellow German thriller, Exterritorial, which brought plenty of action at No. 9 (1 million views). Then, fans were swept off their feet by the “anarchistic love story” at the center of Swedish crime thriller, An Honest Life (No. 2, 2.3 million views), followed by the 2022 Italian action-crime thriller My Name Is Vendetta (No. 3, 2 million views).
