27 November, 2025. Indie developer Lyra Studio is excited to announce that FrostBound, the brutal roguelike deck-building tower defense game set in a world swallowed by eternal winter, is launching today on PC via Steam.

Inspired by the harsh conflicts and desperate survival that defined the great battles of fantasy epics like Game of Thrones, FrostBound captures the ruthless tension of holding the line at the edge of the world. Every run becomes a test of strategy, resilience, and resourcefulness as players face endless waves of frost-twisted enemies while racing to build, strengthen, and protect their fortress in the cold.

Survival Challenges: Strategy Amid Ice and Despair
FrostBound challenges players with nine escalating difficulty levels beyond the "Journey" tutorial, ramping up enemy strength and tightening resources while rewarding skilled players with unique buffs and greater loot. High-tier runs feature "Fortification Events" to build defenses and "Beacons" for recruiting epic and elite cards, keeping every run dynamic. Deck management is key. Unlock new card packs, select which to bring into each run, and use "Lock Points" to secure rare cards. A one-click reset makes strategy adjustments easy between runs.

FrostBound's five-card system, Attack, Defence, Skill, Structure, and Elite, spans four factions, giving players deep strategic freedom. Attack Cards target enemies with buffs and damage boosts; Defence Cards summon troops; Skill Cards provide game-changing effects; Structure Cards offer persistent battlefield and resource bonuses; and Elite Cards let players grow leaders into battlefield dominators. Curse Cards add high-risk, high-reward twists, turning setbacks into tactical victories. Every battle feels fresh and strategic.
