Windblown - Steam Early Access Preview

PC, Shadow PC

On October 24, 2024, the action roguelite game from developer Motion Twin and publisher Kepler Ghost will be released as an Early Access version, in which a vortex has devoured countless heroes' souls. In my preview, I'll tell you a little bit about the upcoming game, which you should definitely add to your wishlist here.

Build up the weapons

In Windblown, you must save the powers of the fallen warriors and rebuild their weapons in order to destroy the vortex that is about to engulf the village in which you find yourself.  The small village makes an idyllic, peaceful impression, but the reality is different, as you will soon discover for yourself. You are shot through a cannon into the kingdom of heaven, where countless enemies will relentlessly attack you. Are you strong enough to rebuild your weapons and defeat your enemies?

Procedural worlds

Windblown is an action roguelite with procedural worlds, which means that you rarely play the same world again once you have died. There are also different organic worlds, each of which contains a boss and several mini-bosses as well as dozens of enemies who want to get at you. Every now and then, you can choose a path or sacrifice lives to get an item. Life is precious and you don't have many opportunities to get healing potions, as the currency is hard to earn and passive abilities don't always give you an advantage in this regard.

Tough but fair

Windblown doesn't make it easy for you with the different enemy attacks, you have to have a good grip on your Dashen skills, they are hard but never unfair. The more you play and fall, the better you get. I had the chance to play the preview of the Early Access version and was really impressed. I died like a fly being swatted, but I got better and better (most of the time anyway). I've created a little Lets Play for you here, where you can follow my first steps and, above all, see the game.
