1. Version History
------------------------
9/1/01: ver. 1.0-
Began writing guide. All missions completed. Notes written for the
missions on the west side of the map.
9/5/01: ver. 1.5-
Notes written for the central, north, and south regions on the map.
Fixed an error (enemies will not come in five's). Also, new 2P VS.
mode tips. Expanded the credits section a bit.
9/6/01: ver. 2.0-
Notes written for the east side of the map. Fixed a grievous
grammatical error (sentences need prepositions). Expanded on the
DESTROY RADAR ARRAY mission because a certain some one is pulling out
his hair (a little Rogaine will clear that up). Also, I added new tips
to the General Tips section. I can't help wondering, "where do I go
from here?" And, added to the credits.

2. Introduction
------------------------
Hi, welcome to my first FAQ.
As mentioned above, this FAQ covers the game Armored Core 2: Another
Age (Hereafter referred to as AC2AA).
This guide is meant to get you through the missions ALIVE. Meaning,
you may or may not be sitting pretty in the end, and you may or may
not make much money.
AC2AA has a lot of missions that fit into the "Destroy All Enemies"
Category. For that reason, the guide will not cover the "Destroy All
Enemies" missions in as much detail. I will cover the strategies you
need for these types of missions in the "General Tips" section.
These Are the AC Parts I began the game with:
Head: ZHD-MO/EGRET
Core: ZCL-XA/2
Arms: ZAN-202/TEM
Legs: ZLN-ZA2/FF
Booster: ZBT-GEX/3000
FCS:LODD-BLAZER
Generator:GR-XR/15000
Radiator: RBG-CM6
Inside: (none)
Extension: ZEX-RS/HOUND
Back Unit R: ZWM-M24/IMU
Back Unit L: (none)
Arm Unit R: KARASAWA-MK2
Arm Unit L: LS-MOONLIGHT
Have fun.

3. General Tips
--------------------------
A. Staying Alive-
The name of the game may be Armored Core, but that armor won't last
you for long if you can't evade enemy attacks.
One of the easiest ways to aviod enemy attacks is to jump in the air.
By jumping in the air, you either a.) force the enemy to look up, or
b.) avoid several rounds.
Another, more effective way of evasion is to strafe to the left/right
(depending upon the amount of room you have, duh!). By employing this
maneuver, you will probably avoid getting hit by several rounds. You
will use this more than anything else.
Finally, the circle strafe. It is an effective way to take out a
single opponent. All you do is hold a strafe button (left/right) and
hold the D-pad in the opposite direction of the strafe (if strafing
left, hold right, and vise versa).
B. Destroy All Enemies-
Believe it or not, about seventy to seventy-five percent of the game
fits into this category. All you really need to do is try to conserve
ammo with sure-shots*.
If the area requires you to crawl around corridors, make sure you
boost-strafe around corners. Not only does it save time, but you will
normally be facing an enemy, and you will probably avoid an attack or
two.
If the area of ops is a wide open space, feel free to dodge enemy
attacks. That is why the area is a wide open space to begin with.
Most of the enemies in these missions are weak, and they really don't
take much damage to destroy.
A good thing to have is the Remnants of Enemies Gauge (available in
the cockpit config.). That way there are no surprises.
C. Equipment, Equipment, Equipment!-
If you are starting a New Game, before you start any mission, BUY THE
KARASAWA-MK2!!! This was the best weapon in AC2, and is the best
weapon in AC2AA! It is easily affordable at the beginning of the game,
well balanced, and ULTRA POWERFUL. There is no reason you should not
be using it.
One question, why is it available at the beginning of the game?
D. Never Give Up-
Sure, I know it sounds lame. But, you should never give up. It may
seem like you'll be down and out, but try anyway. I've made it through
missions with less than 10 AP remaining.
"You never know until try."
E. Extensions-
At the beginning of any mission, the first thing you should do is turn
on your extension. These things neutralize the real killers...missles.
F. Defending Stuff-
One of the best things to do when you have to defend a stationary
target is put your back to it (while your extensions are on). That
way, you recieve most of the attacks while nullifying missles.
If your defensive target is of the mobile variety, stay alert and
follow the target(s). Destroy the ground based enemies first, then,
destroy the enemies in the air.
G. Borrowing Parts-
To "borrow" a part, buy it at the shop. If you decide that you do not
want it, after it has served its purpose, you can sell it back to the
shop for the full price.
H. Try, Try Again-
If you fail a mission, go to the System screen and re-load the game.
This is perfect for keeping that "spotless" record. WARNING: Pay very
close attention to what you are doing on that System screen. You might
accidentally save the game.
I. Do not inform me of AC parts that I didn't mention-
Jackal has a near-perfect list of hidden parts and how to get them.
Thank you for the consideration, though.
*sure-shots: firing the weapon when, and only when, the reticle is
red.

4. Guide
--------------------------
A. Neo Isaac-
1. Stop Terrorist Sabotage- No time limit, no pressure, no problem.
2. Destroy Prototype MTs- You'll have to shoot them out of the sky,
first.
3. Defend Elevator Facility- Really straight-forward. The only thing
to worry about is getting all the enemies on both sides of the
cylinder.
4. Attack Transport Convoy- Run through the city streets, destroying
the enemy MTs as you go. You may have to back track to get the last
transport.
5. Assist Emeraude Forces- Nothing difficult, really. Just dash through
the streets, destroying any attackers as you go. Check your fire,
though. As the MTs you're trying to defend have a knack for getting in
your line of fire.
6. Pursue Emeraude Forces- The only real danger in this mission is the
landmines. To avoid taking too much damage, only stay in the middle of
the street. Believe it or not, there are more landmines on the side of
the street than in the middle. Another safety measure worth taking is
to stay at the ends of the streets, shoot all the visible enemies, and
overboost to the other side.
B. Old Zam-
1. Defend Bomber- Just rush in and destroy all the enemies. Simple.
2. Disarm the Bombs- The Operator will tell you where you need to go.
The only thing you need to worry about is getting to all the bombs
before the counter times out. To save time, overboost when you are in
a long straightway. Another way to save time is to only shoot at
enemies in your way. The enemies in this area are really weak. You
should be able to shrug off most of the damage.
3. Destroy Security System- Rush through the facility and destroy ONLY
what gives you trouble. Also, REMEMBER WHERE YOU'VE BEEN! After you
destroy the security panel, hurry back to the point at which you
entered the stage. To save time, just jump down the elevator shaft,
and don't bother to destroy ANY enemies.
4. Enter Waste-Treatment Plant- After destroying the enemies on your
level, Drop down and destroy the enemies on the lower levels. If you
notice that you still have one enemy to go, just wait awhile.
Eventually he will destroy himself.
5. Raven Assessment- Can you say, "Ultra Easy?" I knew you could.
Don't let the floating legs intimidate you. Just use standard evasive
maneuvers while blasting away, and he will fall.
C. Horwick Mountains-
1. Attack the Airbase- To save ammo and trouble, run across the
mountain tops. To cross the huge chasms turn on your overboost and
jump. Remember to hold the jump button for two seconds to get enough
height. When you reach the third mountain, be sure to look down and to
the left (if you are facing the top most shutter). You will see a
lower shutter. Before you can destroy the bomber, you must destroy an
enemy AC (just make sure to stay in the doorway while strafing). After
the AC is gone, the bomber is your's to destroy.
2. Destroy the Radar Array- Ugh! I vowed that I would never play this
mission again (I suppose some vows are meant to be broken). But, a
fifty-first run through the gauntlet eased some of my fears. To
complete this mission more efficiently, carry a back-mounted chain gun
(instead of missles), and your Karasawa. Stay alert and move quickly
(this one had me cursin'). If you don't, the auto-fighters will take
you out. Remember, THERE ARE FOUR DISHES ON EACH MOUNTAIN. If for some
reason, you can't make it all the way across the chasm, aim for one of
the shutters (with a platform portruding out of it). When you reach
the platform, hold your position, put your back to the shutter, and
use the chain gun to defend yourself until you get your energy back.
From there, fly up to the ledge, ready your chain gun, and PAY
ATTENTION TO YOUR RADAR! Defend yourself until you get your energy
back again, and continue on with the rest of the mission. For defense,
try using a shield that doesn't drain a lot of energy.
3. Defend Airbase- Stand with your back to the shutter, turn on the
extensions, and fire away! You must protect the base for at least
three minutes.
4. Eliminate Tresspassing AC- It's another "Destroy All Enemies"
mission (hereafter referred to as DAE). Remember to save enough ammo
for the AC at the end!
5. Intercept Mine Intruders- Another DAE. GET GOOD BOOSTERS! Do not
miss anything on the way up. Backtracking is a pain in the behind!
D. Old Gal-
1. Attack Storage Complex- Ammo conservation is ultra important. Go
from floors 5 to 10, 10 to 20, 20 to 10 , 10 to 5, and 5 to 30.
2. Defend Materials Cache- Put your back to the materials cache. For
some odd reason, the guy's upstairs will let some enemies through (can
they do anything right?). Enemies come down in two's, and three's.
3. Defend Storage Complex- Wander around the floor you are stationed
on, and blast everything.
4. Eliminate Search Team- Prioritize, Prioritize, Prioritize. Kill off
as many MTs as you can before the enemy ACs arrive. When they do
arrive, ignore them, your real targets are the MTs.
5. Eliminate Patrolling AC- You will want to stay as far away from
this guy as possible. If you don't believe me, just let him get close
(you won't last long). To defeat this one, just stay away, turn on
your extensions, and fire away. For some odd reason, the enemy AC will
purposely destroy materials.
6. Takeover Military Warehouse- To minimize collateral damage, only
fire when the reticle is red. Destroy the MTs on the ground before
terminating the MTs in the air. Complete the mission without
destroying any thing to get an AC part.
E. Zearm Desert-
1. Destroy Insertion Team- GET A GOOD FCS! It's really quite simple.
Just shoot the pods as they are coming down. Even if they do manage to
land, the MTs just sit there like idiots. They literally wait for you
to blast them.
2. Eliminate Raven- This one had me cursin', too! Floating leg parts
and a general magazine are HIGHLY recommended. Be warned: YOU WILL BE
UP AGAINST THREE POWERFUL ACs!!! When the battle starts, turn on your
extensions, and rush to where Pendulum will land. Shoot him a few
times to stall him. When he turns to face you, RUN FOR COVER!!! Ignore
the other two ACs, and continually pop out from cover to pepper him
with your Karasawa's shots. To make things easier, defeat Pendulum
first, Pit Viper second, and Heaven's Blaze last. Pendulum has a
grenade launcher, Pit Viper has a Machine gun and a Plasma Cannon, and
Heaven's Blaze packs two vertical missle launchers and a slow, weak
rifle.
3. Attack the terrorists- Almost the same as "Destroy Insertion Team",
but nothing is dropping out of the sky. Just another DAE.
4. Destroy Top Secret Unit- As soon as the battle begins, RUSH UNDER
THE HEAD!!! Stay under the head and continually attack the head. Doing
so will neutralize the left arm. The only thing you will have to worry
about is the right arm. Get rid of that, and the mission is complete.
5. Destroy Massive MT- Remember him? He's back for round two, and it
looks like he got his legs back! He really isn't as difficult as he
looks. Repeat after me,"Patience + Cover = Success." All you need to
do is hide behind some rubble, and wait for him to stop shooting.
While his back is turned to you, follow him and shoot what you can.
Repeat the process several times. Eventually, he'll fall down and go
BOOM! Floating leg parts are recommended.
6. Training Exercise- There is really no way you can loose. The Indies
always pilot weak MTs. Just sock it to 'em.
7. Training Rematch- This is not much more difficult than the last
"Training Exercise". Just make sure that you squeeze off the first
shots, and you'll be fine. You may have to destroy a couple of train
cars.
8. Reactivate Facility Gates- This level is very straight-forward. If
you get stuck, look around. There's always a cracked wall to smash
through. The enemies are weak, but do not ignore them. Find the
security panel to finish the mission.
9. Infiltrate the Weapons Facility- Almost the same as "Reactivate
Facility Gates", except it's another DAE.
F. Burroughs Hill-
1. Eliminate Outlaw Organization- Try to destroy all the enemy tanks
before the AC arrives. Once the AC is there, fire away!
2. Recover Research Project- This is why you need Bio-Sensors! These
Bio-enemies can easily cause an "Out Put Down" system error. Destroy
these overgrown fleas quickly!
3. Attack Secret Warehouse- Another DAE... Just be sure to use the AC
supply vehicles (they're free!)
4. Eliminate Bureau Forces- There are landmines all over the place!
Rush in and find an area where you can shoot at everyone without
worrying about landmines. If you must move about, watch your step!
5. Rescue Trapped Indies- Get a strong weapon with lots of ammo. Turn
on your extensions and follow the Indie's tanks. As always, drop the
enemies on the ground before tackling the enemies in the air.
6. Eliminate Raven- Lumberjack is a frickin' liar! Circle strafe to
destroy him. When victim two shows up, vary your speed to defeat him.
Make all your shots count.
G. Thorn Garden-
1. Attack Abandoned Facility- Destroy all insects outside of the glass
before destroying the insects inside of the glass.
2. Eliminate Bio Menace- Run through and shoot the first two insects
you see. When you drop down into a room with the giant insect,
immediately rush the thing (not doing so will result in a quick
death). Get behind it while shooting. In the time it will take for it
to turn around, you will be delivering the ultimate "Candy-gram"! If
it looks like he will be facing you soon, rush to get behind him
again!
3. Eliminate Unmanned Weapons- This is another DAE. Your main concern
is the auto-fighters. Remain Alert and avoid the floating mines and
you should be fine.
4. Shutdown Nuclear Shelter: Easy! Drop down to the lowest level and
destroy the enemy AC. With him out of the way, you can destroy the
mechanism behind the door with the white lights. Quickly leave the
door you came into and enter the door opposite the huge cylynder.
Don't worry about the time, you will recieve additional time at
certain points in the facility. As far as the enemy MTs are concerned,
you make the call to decide if you destroy them or not (note: there is
a hefty bonus for destroying all ten MTs).
5. Assist Research Team- Run through the facility destroying the MTs
as you go. Just be quick about it. The researchers don't have a lot of
AP.
6. Clear Disposal Facility- This is another DAE, but with a unique
twist. YOUR AP IS RAPIDLY DECREASING!!! If and when you find a
generator, destroy it. When you do, you will recieve a small boost in
AP. The Disorders are relatively weak, so destroying them should not
be much of a problem.
7. Remove Occupant in Facility- This is a standard DAE mission. The
only difficulty you should have is in the vertical shaft. Destroy any
and all enemies, but do not use the floating platforms. Just fly up to
the high ledge. The enemy AC won't shoot at you much. Just to be safe,
stay on the opposite side of the room.
H. Old Avalon-
1. Special Arena Appearance- Zaltehook is a snap! Just keep shooting
him until he falls. DO NOT LET HIM GET BEHIND YOU.
2. Special Arena Rematch- Your AP will be constantly dropping. Keep
your sights on Zaltehook. DO NOT LET HIM GET CLOSE!
3. Eliminate AC- First, turn on your extensions. Then, stay where you
are and shoot at him. When he gets close, start circle strafing him.
4. Terminate Raven- There are two of them. Stay high and wait for one
of them to come to you. Destroy him, quickly, then drop down. Destroy
the other one. Beware, one uses an orbit cannon, the other uses
multi-warhead missles.
I. Earth Central-
1. Rescue VIP- Sounds a lot more difficult than it actually is. To
avoid detection, do not use your boosters. If an enemy sees you, It
can be easily destroyed before it can warn its buddies. Observant
players will notice that the enemies formation is more like a path.
2. Eliminate Unmanned Weapons- This is Another DAE. The number of
Disorder units really doesn't seem to decrease until you are low on
ammunition. Watch where you step. The squashing of cars and street
lights costs a pretty penny.
3. Eliminate Intruder- This is just like the second battle with
Zaltehook, except the scenery is beautiful. If you can find the time,
enjoy it... just don't enjoy it for too long!
J. Colnart Bay City-
1. Defend Shipyard- Yet another DAE. This is actually a lot easier if
you buy floating leg parts (they float on water, y'know). That way you
can take the fight to them, and minimize the chance that they will
break through.
2. Escort Transport Convoy- Follow the convoy and destroy all the
attacking planes with sure-shots. Be sure to turn on your extensions.
3. Disarm the Explosive Devices- It is wise to ignore the enemies
(unless one gets in your way). All of the bombs are on the supports on
the bottom of the bridge. Use floating leg parts.
4. Destroy Submarine- First, destroy the submarine. Since you won't be
pressed for time, you can proceed to destroy the enemy AC. To minimize
damage while destroying the submarine, turn on your extensions.
5. Probe Balena's Defenses- If you ventured away from the transport,
ALWAYS CHECK BEHIND YOU! If you notice that you are taking damage
constantly, look up (there's probably a floating MT shooting you).
When you hear the operator say,"You make the call", keep destroying
enemies (until you are low on AP). If you manage to make more than
100,000c (after ammo and repair expenses) you get a new AC part.
6. Attack Coastal Defenses- This is actually more difficult than it
sounds. As soon as the mission begins, boost-strafe to the right while
firing on the turrets. You should be able to destroy at least three of
them. After the first salvo, the shutters only seem to open when you
are directly in front of them, and a certain distance away. When the
shutters open, strafe to the left or right and fire at the turrets.
After you have disposed of the turrets on one side, cross to the other
side an repeat the entire process again.
K. Balboa City-
1. Attack Space Dock- Shoot the first three enemies you see. Stay
where you are (near the exit), and turn on your extensions. The other
two enemies will get stuck behind a wall. From there, you can just sit
there until the time runs out. After you recieve the all clear, enter
the door behind you. To make up for ammo costs, destroy all of the
containers near your position.
2. Destroy Space Transport- Move quickly. From the start point, exit
the small room and enter the door on the right (this is a hallway).
Either destroy this MT or jump over him. In the next room, destroy the
two MTs blocking access to the door on the other side. Make your way
through another hallway and you will find yourself in a room with a
spaceship slowly leaving the port. Ignore all of the enemies, and aim
for all of the points labeled "TARGET". After all of the targets on
the top of the ship are gone, drop into the half-pipe and finish off
the bottom. The faster you move, the more time you will have to
destroy the transport.
3. Defend the Development Lab- This enemy AC isn't too difficult. As
soon as the fight begins, hit him a few times and drop down. WHATEVER
YOU DO, DO NOT REMAIN IN THE HALF-PIPE!!!
4. Attack the Train- They weren't kidding, it is a small window of
oportunity. Floating leg parts and powerful rockets are recommended.
To buy some time, overboost into the tunnel on the right (but don't
leave the area of operations). When you can see the basic shape of the
engine, start shooting at it. Let the locomotive push you out of the
tunnel. Follow the train while pelting each car with rockets. If you
see that the train is going around a curve, HURRY UP! This mission
takes several tries to accomplish successfully. The ammo will cost a
bundle.
L. Whiteland-
1. Infiltrate the Ancient Ruins- This is another DAE. Get rid of the
turrets above the room before you concentrate on anything else. You
get more money for destroying the red crates (so destroy all the
crates you find).
2. Attack Storage Depot- This is not a DAE, but it might as well be.
Normally, wherever you find enemies, you will find crates. If you have
trouble locating the crates, check the map. Also, do not neglect the
cracks in the walls.
3. Eradicate Unmanned Units- Destroy the first set of Disorders you
see. After a brief cinema, destroy the newly arrived enemies. Follow
the trail of disorders (while destroying them). Eventually, you will
find a pillar with a sphere on it. Destroy the sphere, then the
Disorders in the room. You may have to go back and eliminate any of
the Disorders you may have missed.
4. Attack Zio Matrix Patrol- Low visibility (How low? Have you ever
seen a Chicago winter?). This is a DAE. Turn on your extensions to
avoid getting clipped by missles.
5. Arctic Battle- Another DAE. Try to destroy the opposing MTs before
they can get within firing range of the friendly forces.
M. Rapture-
1. Destroy Security Detail- Another DAE. When you find an MT that
seems to employ fairly decent evasive maneuvers, kill off the other
two MTs in the room, first.
2. Free the Rapture Orbit Elevator- Almost immediately, you will
face-off against an AC. He isn't very difficult at all if you can
manage to stay away from him. After he eats some dust, look up, and to
the right of where you entered the room. You should see a door with
white lights. Fly up to it. Follow the trail of auto-turrets, and
enter the door at the end. Don't worry about AP and ammo, it will all
be restored. While Anatares is airborne, shoot him as many times as
possible. Stay on top and wait for Anatares to come to you. When he
does, destroy him quickly! With him gone, drop down and get rid of his
weaker friend.
N. Lost Field-
NOTE: PLAY AGAINST ANOTHER HUMAN BEING BEFORE ATTEMPTING THESE
MISSIONS! Or, attempt these missions before playing against another
human being. These enemies' patterns closely resemble the patterns of
human players.
1. Explore Uncharted Region- After the long drop, you will be facing a
thin-looking enemy. It's not very articulate, is it? Its attack power
is as limited as its vocabulary. It shouldn't pose much of a problem.
Use standard evasive maneuvers.
2. Revisit Uncharted Region- Another long drop. This time the enemy
resembles a Blackbird jet. The only attack to be cautious of is the
"Psychedelic Assault" (you can probably tell that I made this name
up). When he charges this attack up, you want to be as far away from
him as possible. Try to stay between the streams.
3. Destroy Designated Target- What are they trying to do?!? This one
is extremely difficult ("Commencing Hostilities", that still creeps me
out)! He's also ultra fast! It's tough to even draw a bead on him! To
get this guy in your sights, try looking behind you (cause thats where
the ranger's gonna be...). Or, you can try using the circle strafe
defenses 1 and 2. As far as evasion goes, use the Bumble Bee Patterns.
One attack that you will definitely want to avoid is his energy blade.
To avoid that, use lateral motion. Floating leg parts are HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED!!!
O. Eyelet City-
1. Test New MT Model- There are four D-1s in the area. Each one seems
to control a sector (they don't resemble a team in any way). To finish
this mission as quickly as possible, play through it once, (to find
out where the D-1s are) and load the game again. When you try the
mission again, overboost to each sector to save time. Finish quickly
enough, to get an AC part.
2. Performance Evaluation- You will be working with the D-1s to defeat
the D-2s. Use the same tactics you used against the D-1s. The only
hazard, is the D-1s. They have a tendency to get in the line of fire.
3. Prevent Prototype MT Theft- The first two things you want to do, is
turn on your extensions, and fly to the top of the central structure.
Ignore the other two, and concentrate on taking out "Big Boy". He may
move behind you, but he isn't too difficult. You can make short work
out of the other two MTs (as they are ultra weak).
P. Scissors Forest-
1. Defend the Fortress- Just put your back to the fortress, and turn
on your extensions. When you see an enemy, shoot him. One thing to
look out for, is enemies that will try to flank you.
2. Missle Batteries- Check your map frequently, and turn on those
extensions. Ignore the enemies, and go after the missle batteries. The
missle batteries look like the Junon Cannon (you know, from FFVII).
3. Escort AC Parts Transport- When the mission begins, take out the
transport. BUT, DO NOT PICK UP THE AC PART!!! Instead, stand on top of
the part. Destroy the AC (you should be able to do this without
moving). Before you can recieve the mission success message, press the
action button to grab the part!
Q. Arkot Ocean-
1. Defend the Transport Ship- This mission is boring! You just sit on
the ship, and blast any thing that comes into range.
2. Destroy the Transport Ships- Use floating leg parts and take the
fight to the ships. Ignore the helicopters. When you approach a ship,
take out the turrets on top of it, first. With the turrets gone,
destroy anything with a TARGET marker. Repeat the process on the other
ship. Be warned, though, you will recieve more "spirited" resistance
when you go to work on the other ship.
3. Escort Transport Plane- Wow, the sky really is beautiful (but, for
a little next to nothing, you can step outside and look at the sky as
long as you want). Just sit there for three minutes and destroy the
occasional enemy. DO NOT BOTHER TO FLY OFF OF THE PLANE!
4. Escort Airborne Transports- NOTE: For the next two mission
descriptors, all directions given, are relative to the front of the
plane you start on (example: the nose of the plane is north, the tail
is south, etc.).
This mission is just like the ESCORT TRANSPORT PLANE mission, with the
exception being there are two planes (instead of one). If you notice
that the plane you are on is no longer being attacked, look west,
young man. If one of the pilots says they are taking heavy fire, find
a way to get to the plane being attacked. Pronto!
5. Airborne Attack- There are four planes (one for each cardinal
direction). Ignore the floating enemies and destroy the planes. After
you have destroyed the first plane, jump on the plane to the east of
the formation. With that one out of the way, jump on the plane to the
west of the formation. After you destroy that one, fly onto the plane
to the north of the formation. Now, ride the plane down, wave your
cowboy hat in the air, and yell, "YAHOOO!"
6. Destroy the Government Fleet- From the submarine, fly to the
cruiser. Destroy everything with a TARGET label, fly to the next
cruiser, and do the same. Get to the aircraft carrier, and destroy
everything there. After that, rush over to the last cruiser and
devastate it. Floating leg parts and a general magazine are
recommended.
7. Attack the Ocean Base- You have three minutes to destroy as many of
the turrets as possible. For clear sailing, destroy the topmost
turrets first.
8. Attack the Bureau's Base- You'll start at the very bottom. Destroy
all of the laser turrets on the bottom before you head to the top.
Turn on your extensions and only destroy the enemies in your way.
9. Defend the Ocean Base- You have to get rid of all of the
helicopters and the aircraft carrier (before the carrier can fully
enter the area of ops). By destroying the aircraft carrier, you'll
halt the launching of helicopters. By destroying the helicopters, you
save the turrets on the top of the base. All that's left for you to do
is mop up the remaining MTs.
R. Folk City-
1. Test Facility's Defenses- Use floating leg parts to zip through the
facility. The word "defense" is used rather loosely here. This is a
standard DAE.
2. Remove Germ Warfare Toxin- Just like the TEST FACILITY'S DEFENSES
mission. At the fork, hang a left. Turn up the heat, and take the
other side of the fork to the escape point.
3. Restore the Temperature Setting- This is the same as the REMOVE
GERM WARFARE TOXIN mission. After tampering with the heat, the mission
is over. Don't let the enemies hit you. They can cause an "Out-Put
Down" error quickly.
4. Eliminate Hijacker- Follow the trail of auto-fighters (while
destroying them). Eventually, you'll find the MT. Don't bother to drop
down to face him. Just stand in the doorway (after you have destroyed
all of the auto-fighters in the room) and shoot at him.
5. Safeguard Stolen Prototype- This mission is extremely easy. Since
the enemy AC will focus mostly on you, (he has a problem with
priorities) just blast him. You'll even get help from the MT.
6. New Part Aquisition- Run around the facility and destroy any crates
you see. Eventually, you will find a room with a grate. Destroy the
grate to find two crates. Destroy the crates to get the part. I
strongly suggest that you destroy as many crates as you can. You'll
get a special bonus!

5. 2P Versus Tips
--------------------------
This section gives basic tips about the two player mode. To get the
most out of this mode, I would suggest that you beat the game. That
way you can use overweight ACs.
1. Use an AC that best personifies your personality.
That's probably the reason they give you so many AC parts.
Customization is a lot more fun if it's something you make up
yourself.
2. Learn to control the AC well.
The process of turning around in this game is a pain. Mainly because
it is a slow procedure. If you really want to turn quickly, try this:
a.) The Dash Turn- While passing an enemy(left or right side),
feather the appropriate strafe button so that you are doing a quarter
circle strafe. Let up on the accelerator, and use the time it takes to
come to a complete stop to turn. If it worked, you should be facing
your enemy's back. Can also be used to turn quickly.
b.) The Mid-Air 180- Fly over your opponent (Since only a select
few people actually adjust their view to shoot opponents out of the
sky, it isn't as risky as it sounds). While in mid-air, turn so that
your radar indicates that you are facing your enemy. If it worked you
should be facing your foe's back.
3. How to evade the standard evasive maneuvers.
Is someone circle strafing you to death? Is a "Strafing Stan" always
causing you to cry? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions,
these are for you:
a.) Circle Strafe Defense- If some one is circle strafing you, you
can: 1. boost backwards outside of the circumference of the circle.
2. use the Dash turn to escape the circle.
3. circle strafe in the opposite direction. (least useful, but
surprisingly effective)
b.) Strafe Defense- If someone is constantly strafing, there is
only one thing you can do. For the sake of the argument, let's say
that the enemy is strafing to his right. What you have to do is strafe
to your right. By doing this, you are making sure that the enemy is
always in your sight. The only downside is that you're always in the
enemy's sight.
4. Use the Bumble Bee Pattern.
When you learn how to control the AC well, try this. The Bumble Bee
Pattern is not a pattern at all. Just incorporate all of the different
evasive maneuvers so that they look like a random occurence. This
really throws some opponents off.
5. Improvise, man!
Believe it or not, having a strategy can often mean that you've
figured out a new way to lose. Sometimes, the best way to win is to
make it all up as you go along. By doing that, you'll find your own
style, and, eventually, you can figure out which parts you should and
shouldn't use.
6. Feel the rhythm.
I know how stupid this sounds, but play some music when you play. I
tell you this, because the music that the game gives you sucks!
Depending upon the AC you use, play some fast or slow-paced music. For
my faster AC, I play something fast (like "Hall of the Mountain
King"). For my slower AC, I play something with a slower tempo (like
"Quality Control" from the Jurassic 5).
If you can't play the music out loud, play it in your head. The
results are pretty much the same.
Thanks to my employer. If I had no job, I wouldn't have been able to
buy this game.
Also, thanks to the good people at Agetec (you know, the people who
made this game).
Also, thanks to my mother. Without whom, I wouln't be here (then you'd
be up the creek without a paddle!)
You!
