III. GAME GUIDE
+===================+

This game is quite easy and has a linear plot. So it won't be so
difficult for you to finish this game. Though, there are some annoying stage
that you might get some difficulty. Please notice that I wouldn't give any
detailed information again and again if the info in the game is already clear
as it'll make this game too easy to beat.

*******************************************************************************
* 1. WELCOME TO HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY! *
*******************************************************************************

The game will start with a storybook mode which will introduce the story:

/~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~+
There was nothing about the starry sky that night to suggest that
strange and mysterious things would soon be happening. As unsuspecting
Muggles slept, a huge motorbike with a giant astride it tumbled down from
the darkness. The giant, named Hagrid, left a blanket-wrapped bundle on the
doorstep of Number 4 Privet Drive. Nestled in the bundle was a baby...
Harry Potter... The Boy Who Lived.
For the next eleven years, Harry lived with his dreadful step-parents,
the Dursleys. Until that fateful day when he recieved the letter inviting
him to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hagrid took Harry
to Diagon Alley, to purchase a most unusual list of school supplies. Soon
after, Harry caught the Hogwarts Express from platform nine and three
quarters, and left the Muggle world far behind.
Harry sat beneath the Sorting Hat hoping that he would not be chosen
for Slytherin House over Gryffindor. 'Not Slytherin, eh?' said the Hat in
his ear. 'You could be great, it's all here in your head, and Slytherin
will help you on your way to greatness. No? Well, if you're sure, better
be...' 'GRYFFINDOR!'
| /
+~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After that, you'll meet Dumbledore and be left in the Hall, just go to
the Gryffindor Tower and get your first Famous Witches & Wizards Card in the
bookshelf. You can enter the secret room behind the bookshelf by pressing S.

*******************************************************************************
* 2. HEDWIG IN TROUBLE *
*******************************************************************************

Continue your journey by trying to save Hedwig. Just follow the path and
try to get all the House Points :
- You'll get your 15 ones by killing the snails with 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx'
- 5 more points by moving the block until it can't move farther with 'Flipendo
Knockback Jinx'.
- The other 5 you can get by casting your spell to the web next to the block.
- 10 points more by killing the rat with Charged 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx'
- 5 points by moving the block with Charged 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx'
- Another points by hitting the books worth 5 points each.

*******************************************************************************
* 3. FLY-TIME! *
*******************************************************************************

After rescuing Hedwing, you should take you first flying lesson. Grab all
the House Points by doing it well. You just have to fly through the hoops. It's
quite easy as you may spend your time freely. Just take your time mastering the
broomstick control.

*******************************************************************************
* 4. CHARM CLASS *
*******************************************************************************

Continue your adventure by getting into charm class. Try not to be late
as it will reduce your House Points by 5. Master the spell and get 5 more House
Points.

*******************************************************************************
* 5. EXPLORE THE HALL! *
*******************************************************************************

After you finish your Charm Class, back to the hall and collect all the
beans there. There are 23 of them. Also, you should have 100 House Points now.
You can collect more House Points by placing the candle on the floor in the
Gryffindor Tower into the desk. Go to Great Foyer, check all Bookshelfs and
get the beans and two cards there.

*******************************************************************************
* 6. GET YOUR NIMBUS 2000 *
*******************************************************************************

This section is optional, as you can continue your adventure without this
broom. Finish your journey to collect the beans by going to the room occupied
by the knights. Collect all the beans there and also in your way back. Go to
the Great Hall and get some beans to fulfill the requirement. Go back to the
Weasleys, and they will tell the password. Go to the potrait room next to the
Great Hall and get your Nimbus 2000!

*******************************************************************************
* 7. THE JOURNEY CONTINUES *
*******************************************************************************

Continue your journey by dueling with Malfoy, going to Herbology Class
(Don't Be Late!!), and learning Quidditch. Try to get Gold Wings. And you
should have 100 House Points now as each Gold Wing worth 25 House Points.

*******************************************************************************
* 8. GO GET THE FIRE SEEDS *
*******************************************************************************

Go to the courtyard and get some blue beans from the Puffskein. Go to the
secret passage behind a discolored section near the location of Chocolate Frog.
Get more beans and also card! Continue to Hagrid's Hut and get all the beans.
Notice to the discolored walls as they have secret passages containing cards
and beans. Just follow the path until you get the Fire Seeds. There will be
some obstacles like the Gargoyle and another things that might takes time.
After that, Norbert will hatch.

*******************************************************************************
* 9. TIME TO FLY! *
*******************************************************************************

Then, you'll do a little warming-up with Draco Malfoy. It's quite easy
and will be VERY easy if you already have the Nimbus. After that you'll be in
your first Quidditch match versus Hufflepuff. Catch the Snitch and you'll win.

*******************************************************************************
* 10. SLOTH BRAIN? *
*******************************************************************************

You'll have to get Sloth Brain after a little confrontation with Severus
Snape. Just follow the path again. It's quite easy. Don't forget to collect all
the beans and also House Points by doing everything well. Don't forget to check
the discolored wall near the Quidditch Pitch for another card and some beans.
Also, get your password after completing your beans collection. Go to the
potrait ground (follow the path to Hagrid's Hut but take the other one at the
intersection of the path) for another card. After that, back to the school and
take the potion class.

*******************************************************************************
* 11. TRAP? *
*******************************************************************************

After learning how to make a potion, Snape will ask you to get some
Fireflies. It's quite easy, too. You can use Puffapod to beat the Troll and get
more points. Don't forget to collect all green beans and also rescue Raymond
the Ravenclaw's cat. You'll get another card from him.

*******************************************************************************
* 12. ANOTHER CLASSES TO ATTEND *
*******************************************************************************

After that you should go to Defense Against The Dark Arts Class, learning
'Verdimillious'. After the class over, you still have to use that spell to quit
>from the dungeon. Don't forget to check the secret room behind the bookshelf.
Then, you will meet Nick. Do what he says. Find all the curses and destroy with
Charged 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx'. It'll take times but still easy. Collect all
the beans you found and after that go to the Weasleys and say the password to
the potrait to get your Quidditch Body Armor. Then, go to the Transfiguration
Class and master the 'Avifors'. Finish the class and use that spell to the
statue, and enter the unlocked room in the 2nd floor. Do a race with Peeves and
get all the red beans there. After that you'll get your Invisibility Cloak.

*******************************************************************************
* 13. FORBIDDEN CORRIDOR *
*******************************************************************************

Your adventure continues in the Forbidden Corridor which is unlocked now.
You should sneak after Mr. Filch and Mrs. Norris. (Hint : You can have a peek
by using your aim-key (T)) Then, get the Invisibility Tokens there and go
through the doors after getting the keys. It's okay to be caught up as it won't
deduct your House Points. And you don't have to get the key again as it won't
be taken by Mr. Filch. The most important thing is to walk when Mr. Filch and
Mrs. Norris look after a place opposing your position. And hide when they walk
in front of you or looking at the side of your place standing. You'll find the
Mirror of Erised at the end. Then, follow the story and prepare for some
another things to beat up.

*******************************************************************************
* 14. TROLL? OH.. NO! *
*******************************************************************************

Another race is going to begin. Your opponent now is a mountain troll.
It's quite hard to have a race while collecting all the beans. So don't forget
to save your game! What you need is only patience. Take it easy! Continue by
helping Ron to defeat the Troll by doing your 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx' to the
things the troll thrown until Ron finishes his work.

*******************************************************************************
* 15. QUIDDITCH TIME *
*******************************************************************************

Another Quidditch match versus Ravenclaw. Nothing to explain, just use
your skill and experience!

*******************************************************************************
* 16. DIAGON ALLEY *
*******************************************************************************

Norbert is sick and you must have the Dragon Tonic. First, go to the
Gringott's. Follow the instruction, get all of the form there (it'll be a bit
difficult as the floor is very slippy). Very annoying bank, isn't it? I don't
think I'll save my money there if I were a wizard although it's considered as
the safest one. More huge pain is waiting, a fast-paced roller-coaster-like
ride. It's VERY annoying as you have to collect all the coins and gems to get
Knut, Sickle, and Galleon Famous Witches and Wizards Cards. And you have to
play that silly roller-coaster at least 3 times! What an annoyance! Yet, if you
don't mind not completing your card, just get enough coins and EXIT from
Gringott's! (But don't forget that if you don't get all of the cards, you won't
get the alternate ending). If you want to beat that roller-coaster and get the
cards, I have only one tip : "Practise..." as it's the only way that works.
After that, quit from Gringott's and get all the supplies in the store. A
little annoyance is waiting in Ollivander's as you have to 'enjoy' yourself
grabbing peacock's feathers (another implementation of self-service store, uh?)
Just take your time to practise as the peacock always follows the same route.
There is an Invisibility Token inside one of the box. It may be useful for the
first time, but in case it doesn't regenerate, I think it's being useless.

*******************************************************************************
* 17. DETENTION IN THE FORBIDDEN FOREST *
*******************************************************************************

Just continue your journey and you will get a detention to find
wounded-Unicorns. Just follow the path and don't forget to get your last card
in the path near the cliff after you kill the turtle. After you get your card,
back to the cliff, follow the path and find the the Unicorn. Another story-book
mode will appear.

*******************************************************************************
* 18. THE LAST PREPARATION *
*******************************************************************************

You'll get a flute from Hagrid. Take some practices and go back to the
place where the Weasleys wait. If you already have all the beans, you will get
the password. Use that password to get a 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx' upgrade
which is more powerful.

*******************************************************************************
* 19. FORBIDDEN CORRIDOR AGAIN - TRAPDOOR - FINAL STAGE *
*******************************************************************************

This is the your last journey so make sure that you've made all of the
preparations as there is no way back! There is 7 obstacles to get the
Sorcerer's Stone.
_____________________________________________________________________________
/ \
===========================================================================
1st Obstacle
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[HAGRID's FLUFFY]
===========================================================================
\_____________________________________________________________________________/

Enter the hole in the Forbidden Corridor and you'll meet Hagrid's 'pet',
Fluffy. As Hagrid's told you, use your flute to make Fluffy sleep. The sequence
is always the same, T O S X. Do that sequence until one of its head sleep, and
after that go back and stay in front of the other head that hasn't fell asleep.
Do it in turn. You can either make the side-head sleep first or the middle one.
It has the same effects. After the three of Fluffy's head sleep, the door to
the secret passage will be opened.

_____________________________________________________________________________
/ \
===========================================================================
2nd Obstacle
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[PROFESSOR SPROUT's DEVIL's SNARE]
===========================================================================
\_____________________________________________________________________________/

The next thing to defeat is Devil's Snare. Just cast your 'Flipendo
Knockback Jinx' upon the lighted tentacles in the right turn. Please note that
you SHOULDN'T kill the tentacles that are not ligten-up as it'll make the
killed-one regenerate, so kill them in the right order. (means that you should
kill the lightened-up tentacles only, one-by-one) After you destroy all the
tentacles, you've to kill the middle one. Just hit it with your Charged
'Flipendo Knockback Jinx' and dodge when it prepares to attack you. You can
either stay back or move to another side in a circle motion. Don't forget to do
it fast, swiftly. It'll recover if you do it too slowly. At last, cast another
spell, 'Incendio'. Don't fail as the Devil's Snare will recover if you fail.
Be patient.

_____________________________________________________________________________
/ \
===========================================================================
3rd Obstacle
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[PROFESSOR FLITWICK's FLYING KEYS]
===========================================================================
\_____________________________________________________________________________/

The next obstacle is quite easy. It's similar to Quidditch. Just follow
the speed rings until a catch screen appear. Use X to catch the key. Watch out
for the other keys (red-winged ones) which will act almost like Bludger. After
you get the key, continue to the next door.

_____________________________________________________________________________
/ \
===========================================================================
4th Obstacle
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[PROFESSOR McGONAGALL's GIGANTIC CHESS]
===========================================================================
\_____________________________________________________________________________/

There is a secret room in the way to this obstacle. You can find a save
point and Chocolate Frogs there. The secret room is the wall that is different
>from others. Use S to enter. The next obstacle is a gigantic chess. You have to
finish it by making the pieces kill each other. There are 3 boards waiting for
you. The main thing you should do is to make them to move to a certain square.
And NOT like the chess move! Don't try any chess strategies here as it won't
work. Beware that you have no companion. All of the chess pieces is your
opponent. This is the details of the basic of the move. See the diagram!

[X][X] [X][X] Legend :
------ ------ ========
[H][ ] or [ ][H] X - Chess Pieces

[X]|[H][.] or [X]|[ ][.] or [.][H]|[X] or [.][ ]|[X]

Note : The --- or | means that it's okay to have a blank space there. Yet,
it's also okay not to have a space there. Try to give extra space around
your-occupied space. It'll be very useful to be a run-space when the
pieces move next to your pieces. You can make them killing each other by
moving to [.] area.

Yet, if you still can't defeat them, try one of these solutions! (the first
solution is always the shortest one)

===============================================================================

The chess boards are defeated, and you can go through. There is also a
secret door in this next corridor. Recover yourself with the Chocolate Frog and
save your game.

===========================================================================
5th Obstacle
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[PROFESSOR QUIRRELL's TROLL]
===========================================================================
\_____________________________________________________________________________/

The next obstacle is a troll. As it's still groggy, simply move the
objects on his-sleep-walking way with 'Wingardium Leviosa' to the space near
the wall quickly. Don't levitate them too high as it'll wake the troll up.
It's quite easy. There are some Chocolate Frogs in the end of the way. Get
them, go to the door and then Hermione will cast 'Alohomora' to open the door.
Go through.

/ \
===========================================================================
6th Obstacle
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[PROFESSOR SNAPE's ICE POTION]
===========================================================================
\_____________________________________________________________________________/

In this room you should pay attention to the shield (the one between the
two knights). He'll be swapped with the others. Just follow the cup's moves,
found him and beat him with 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx'. It's quite easy. Just
avoid his strikes and strike back if he opens his shield. If you're fail, beat
the false-knight with 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx' when he is not defending
himself. Just try and try until he opens his defence. And after that you can
follow the same process as before you hit a false cup. After you found the
right one and beat him, get the ice potion and move along.

_____________________________________________________________________________
/ \
===========================================================================
Before-7th Obstacle
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
MEETING WITH QUIRELL
===========================================================================
\_____________________________________________________________________________/

At last, you'll meet the mysterious man. He will bring two knights to
life. Just beat them with you 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx'. Then, he'll make one
another knight and also one shield life. Defeat them with the same spell. And
then he will charm a huge knight to attack you. Hit him when he's in his solid
form. You can avoid his sword by running all the way or better you move around
him in a clockwise motion. Wait until he's not attacking, and cast your spell.
Notice that two last strikes are double and triple. Just be patient and you'll
finish him easily. You'll find out that that mysterious man is Professor
Quirrell! Just get the Chocolate Frog and Potion if you get hurt, enter the
last chamber and prepare for the final.

_____________________________________________________________________________
/ \
===========================================================================
7th Obstacle
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
[PROFESSOR DUMBLEDORE's MIRROR OF ERISED]
FINAL BATTLE WITH QUIRRELL/LORD VOLDEMORT
===========================================================================
\_____________________________________________________________________________/

You'll meet Quirrell and Voldemort there. Just avoid the green orb he
casts. And meanwhile you can cast your 'Flipendo Knockback Jinx' to the columns
there (behind the Voldemort). Release that spell just when he is not warned and
only if he is standing right in front of the column. Otherwise, he won't get
hurt. If it works, Voldemort will be hurt gradually. Sometimes you need to
broke the rope with S button. After some cutscene, Voldemort removes the
column, and you should hit him with another way. Just wait until he stands
behind or in front of the Mirror of Erised and cast two Charged 'Flipendo
Knockback Jinx' to the mirror. Try not to be too close to him. And when he cast
his green orb spells, you can avoid them by moving in a counterclockwise or
clockwise route. It'll simply dodge the big one too. Or you can dodge it by
running backward. The main thing is not to stay in the place that will be
passed by the green orb. After some turn, Quirrel (Voldemort) will grab you.
Simply press S repeatedly and press X when the 'Hurt Quirrel' message appear.
Repeat it until he is defeated.

* 20. END OF GAME *
*******************************************************************************

As Voldemort is defeated, your adventure is ended. Another storybook mode
will appear.

Dumbledore smiled. 'What happened down in the dungeons between
yourself and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret,' he said, 'so,
naturally, the whole school knows.' The Stone had been destroyed, but
Harry remained fearful that its loss would not prevent Lord Voldemort's
return. Dumbledore nodded, sharing his concern. Nevertheless, Harry - if
our battles do no more than slow Voldemort's return, with luck he may never
regain his power at all.'
Harry made his way down to the end-of-year feast alone that night.
The Great Hall was decked out in green and silver, to celebrate Slytherin
winning the House Cup. When Harry entered there was a sudden hush. He took
a seat between Ron and Hermione, trying to ignore the stares of the other
students. 'The House Cup,' announced Dumbledore, 'is awarded to the team
with the most House points. At the moment, that would seem to be Slytherin.'
A storm of cheering and stamping broke out from the Slytherin table.
'However,' continued Dumbledore, 'in recognition of Mr. Harry Potter's pure
nerve and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor sixty points.' Harry's
table erupted with cheers and applause. The additional points had won the
House Cup for Gryffindor! It was the best evening of Harry's life. Better
than winning at Quidditch or Christmas, or knocking out mountain trolls. He
would never, ever forget tonight.

+~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you got all the Wizard Cards, Ron will come into the Hospital Wing and
give you a special card! (it's Harry's) After that, you'll play Quidditch again
versus the Slytherin, win the match and you'll get the Quidditch cup. After
some stories again, credit screen will appear. Yet, if your cards collection is
not completed, you will directly see the credit screen without Ron-giving-card
scene.

Congratulations! You have succesfully finished your adventure. Try to
beat the Quidditch match also by selection Play Quidditch from the Start Game
menu.

VII. FAQs
+===================+

Q) How do I beat Devil's Snare as it's tentacles keep growing up?
A) Actually, I've told the way in the walkthrough and so has Hermione. Kill the
tentacles in the right order. Take a look at the tentacles, one of them has
different color, right (the others have dark green, yet that one is light
green) ? Kill it first! After that, one other tentacle's color will be light
green too... Then kill that tentacle. Another tentacle will be lighten-up,
kill that one..... That's the right order! The last one is the middle.
Don't move too far from it as it won't show up if you stay to far from it.
You should only stay back when it attacks you (need practise to get a good
timing!)

Q) Help! I just can't get through all the hoops before the time runs out! Any
tricks?
A) Well, there are actually no tricks at all. You have to practise a lot to be
more familiar with the broomstick control. Try reversing the control from
the menu to try whether the reversed-control is more proper to you. Try also
not to fly too fast as it may help you to fly through the speed rings more
precisely.

Q) Can I get into the Broom Cupboard as I never see it unlocked?
A) Well, just pass all 40 hoops in the 3rd Quidditch Test.
* Haven't been proved yet, just try it!

Q) How can I kill the turtle in the Forbidden Forest?
A) Well, the turtle has a very great defence, but it'll be weak if it's not
ready. So wait until it uses its flame, avoid the flame, and come next to it
(in a close-up position), then cast your Charged Flipendo. Do it repeatedly!

Q) How do I type and use the GS codes?
A) You have to have a tool named GameShark, or GameShark CD for some series of
the PlayStation. Those codes maybe can be used in another tool similar to
GameShark.

* Still waiting for the questions. Only questions with at least 3 askers will
be listed in this FAQs section.
